Hi, I have a 4 1/2-5 month old panter chameleon who eats only crickets approx 10-12 daily & fruit flies for afternoon snack (non flying kind). I feed crickets a pre-made dry feeder along w/ carrots, oranges & apple (was feeding spinach, but found out that's bad & stopped that about 1 week ago) & of course the gel water stuff. Diego's urate was once totally white then the very next day redish orange in middle with white at the end of urate at day 2 or possible day 3 after getting him. Then it went back to almost all white w/ a slight yellow tinge then stayed pretty much that way until today. I've had him now for about a month. I mist him 3 times a day for about 3 or so minutes & have a dripper going though out the day pretty much. I thought he may be getting dehydrate base on yellow tinge urate so I attempted to give him small wax worm but he didn't even react or want it at all. He don't go poo yesterday (normally goes once a day) but did today & picture below is what it looks like. I also added a picture of my Diego. I might just be a worry newbie mom but I'm not sure. Thanks!!!!!!!!

What kind of lighting are you using? Your chameleon does not look dehydrated but his urate certainly does not look great. Is it possible that some of the white part could have fallen off. There can be a little bit of orange at the end before the white. I have had that happen where some of it becomes detached on a branch of leaf. Check the cage to be sure. Your cham sould not be closing eyes during the day. Make sure you post back what type of lighting you have.

up the mistings and check again. you could try showering your cham to make it drink with some warm water. but it does look like its missing a piece.

I wasn't home during this poo today, my hubby was watching out & took that picture for me.
* Lighting is a zoo med 50 watt basking light bulb (it was a 75 watt for the first couple days but I lower it to 50 watt... basking temp was closer to high 90s-100 with the 75 watt) also use reptisun 5.0 flourescent UVB.
I've thought about the showers but didn't want to stress him if not needed. I've tried to up the misting (always w/ warm water) when I'm home & sometimes can get it more so like 4 mistings maybe the rarer occasion of 5 times but never less then 3... I sometimes wonder if he sees me as the big water monster spraying him down! Lol. Could it be what I'm feeding the crickets? They eat carrots like crazy. BTW...
* minerals are light dusting of Herp, rep-cal w/ d3 & miner-Al-o... alternating them with 2 days off a week & once recently more like 3 days off & alternated them the other 4. Wasn't sure if it was too much & that might be the problem. Also forgot to mention he also bubbles his eyes out & very occasional rubs them even when NOT being misted (not sure if the is related or even a problem) for that I started a humidifier, for 2 days now, to try to remedy this eye thing if a problem at all... not sure if maybe he has dry eyes. I know we have dry eyes are selfs right not from are dry heat in the house so maybe he does too. No discharge or anything like that though & shed about 3 weeks ago completely in 3-4 hours. TIA!!!!!!!!!!!!
