    Laying eggs

I personally think this isn't necessary. Although I have heard some do this, why would you take her from her comfortable surroundings? That sounds a little too stressful and unfair to her. I would never do that. But that's me. My girl laid in her enclosure no problem.

    Laying eggs

The exploring can go on for a few months - be patient. The female likes to explore and dig often - she's looking for a suitable place to lay. You will know if she is really ready to lay because she will locate the bin/pot you've put out for her and you'll see the sand everywhere. You might even...

    Mist at night?

What kind of shedding problem? I have a female veiled and it's her first shed in a while but it isn't coming off completely. It has been about 2 weeks now. Would increasing the mistings help or perhaps a shower?

    Deep nest

Easily, they use their hands and legs to push the soil back over the eggs and work themselves back out of the nest. This is what they are supposed to do - the way nature intended it. Of course people have left the eggs in the location they were buried but it's more controlled if you dig the eggs...

    First clutch, are they fertile?

Be careful not to move the egg much - be very gentle. Put them in damp vermiculite spaced apart to accomodate growth within a container with small air holes. Place in an incubator or in a closet depending on where you live. I live in Canada so incubators are probably better, especially in the...

    Reptariums?

I have used mine indoors and outdoors. I prefer them for outdoor use. As previously mentioned, quite dark if used indoors. I use glass indoors. :O)

    sleeps alot...why???

Many people on here have given sound advice and you NEED a vet to take care of that poor cham. There is nothing you can do enough to remedy the situation. Calcium supplementation is not enough. If you care about your reptile, you will see a vet and not post on these forums looking for a quick...

    Broken ribs

I tried taking pics today. I didn't want to touch her. She seems really fragile atm. She was only on her good side. I will try again tomorrow. Sorry for this lengthy process :(

    Broken ribs

Hi all! Great update!! Leila has layed 30 eggs and they are now at the store for incubation. :) She is eating well, supplemented well and drinking! I'm so proud of her. I guess this answers the question I had about her ribs ... I will still post some pics later on of her ribs and pics of...

    Broken ribs

Hi all - thanks for following up on this thread. I have been unable to take pictures of her because she has been digging in her laying bin the past few days. I've tried not to bother her much. I have been palpating her stomach for months now as I've seen digging behaviour often but she doesn't...

    Broken ribs

I can post some pics but since she is sleeping and I'm hiking in the early morning, I'll post them later on tomorrow night. Check back :) She is about 2 years old now. When I bought her, I noticed after she puffed up the first time and her stomach retracted, there was a clear outline of ribs...

    Broken ribs

My chameleon was purchased with a few fractured ribs. I was wondering if it would be harmful if I bred her? Has anyone experienced this or knows of any stories? Facts? Thanks!

    Gravid?

A WC female could possibly be gravid. Laying bin is very necessary. Observe her closely, make sure she is being supplemented properly and well hydrated.

    Is this basking normal?

They also lean over to one side with movement as well. Like, if I have my girl near the window on my arm, she will cling to my arm but try to get out of the cars view by going on her side when it passes by.

    Veiled Female Behaviour

Great response! Thank you. She seems a lot more friendly these days. I'm leaning more towards her wishing to get out as she always claws at the doors and as soon as I open them, she runs to my shoulder. She is a nice lime green almost all the time with the orange spots and blue spine. If...
