With help from @Beman last summer, I converted the doors on my DS large hybrid atrium to clearside using 20 ga marine vinyl. Service door and top panel are still screen providing for chimney effect. It has worked very well in helping keep nighttime humidity high with fogging and it is a much...
Male ambilobe looking for new branches.
DOH 7.10-26.2020; ~10 months old.
A little defensive, but will hand feed special treats on occasion.
High quality YBBB lines; would make a good addition to a breeding project.
Measured UVI 3.5, fed a wide variety of gutloaded feeders, supplemented with...
I have a pair of the Govee Bluetooth hygrometers in my DS atrium and one outside in a greenhouse. They all work well, but I wish I had invested in a WiFi based system instead.
He's from the Nugget x Alla 7/10 clutch.
I wanted to add that I chose to go with iPardalis because I feel Jonathan really strives to provide great care for his animals. He's gotten rid of dietary D3, does cool bio bins for hatchlings and raises babies individually. It's neat to be able to...
@Action Jackson I know you work with cristifers. Are you going to continue producing them? I have read you say in a few places that this might be your last clutch.
I have a DS large hybrid atrium with screen doors. I contacted Bill about ordering acrylic doors recently and he mentioned he is working through some issues with the weight of the acrylic doors. Converting them to clearside seems like a great alternative. I have been able to hold my temps and...
Thank you. The lighting tray was a piece of cake. Getting it hung level and at the right height when the weight in the tray isn't balanced was the hardest part. Some sort of hood would look better and probably be easier, but I couldn't envision a way to make one that would work with this cage...
I don't handle this guy unless it's necessary, and we are still working towards tong feeding. But I needed to remove him yesterday to treat my plants with neem oil to get rid of a small mealy bug and scale problem. Here he is at about 5 months old telling me he's not happy.
Trying to keep things neat behind the cage as well.
Plenty of room inside the cage for a gutloading bin and assorted crap.
Laying out a tray to hang lighting above the cage. I used 1/8" thick 3/4" angled aluminum. I cut it with whatever blade was already on my saw, just sprayed the blade...
I've been wanting a panther for a few years and finally decided to start this project last summer. I relied almost completely on the work of @DeremensisBlue on the academy and podcast. This was a big project, but I think it turned out well and hope some of this info helps or inspires others in...
