Curious Gardener: What did I find?

Honestly I don't see why you guys are arguing about species invasion... over this Veiled Cham. If the OP releases it I am pretty sure it's obviously it will die. Look how small it is and how bad of shape it is already in. I understand the general concern but this situation is not really related...

    Easier spiecies???

Hum, I guess I am the odd one out... but I have had more ease keeping Jacksons. However both are a pretty good beginner species. Just obviously Panthers get a lot bigger and can have more of a attitude.... panthers seem more sensitive to me I guess... Also with Jacksons you can keep a few...

Curious Gardener: What did I find?

Chameleons are not native to Florida. It might get too hot for this little guy in the summer, and there might be a few days in the winter it will be to cold. Also it does not rain enough, nor is humid enough. Right now I hear the outdoor temps are perfect for a veiled to live, but a caged veiled...

    Normal?

Sometimes my Chams won't eat if they get bored of what they are eating. Don't jump straight to silk worms because of there fat content but try roaches... Or something along those lines.

    Normal?

When a Cham is firing up, Sleeping or just hanging out you shouldnt really be able to see its ribs. When a Cham is stretching, or moving around, its perfectly normal to see its ribs, or when they make awkward movements. Sometimes my Cham will sorta squash his body flat causing his ribs to...

Will a 4 hour car ride stress my chameleon too much?

Do you mean take him to the Mountains for a day trip or overnight trip? Then I would leave him home... For some reason I get the impression you just want to take him up for the day because you think he will enjoy the mountains if this is the case it will be unnecessary stress. However if you...

    What local Am I????

Yeah minus the "U" he screams Ambanja to me, and for all we know he could just be a really odd boy with a "U". However if he is from the east I doubt he has Ambanja in him:confused:

    What local Am I????

Instinctually I wanted to say Ambanja x Sambava but if he is WC that's pratically impossible... I have NO idea. This will be a interesting thread if it stays active to see people's opinions.

why are chameleons considered hard to keep ?

To sum it up I think they are considered "Hard to keep" because of the misting, UVB and dusting - creating the correct phosphorus to calcium ratio. They are not that hard to keep though... if you do everything correctly. There is just really no error for mistake or cutting corners. If your Ball...

Double checking to make sure I received a male panther

He looks male to me, his tail looks pretty thick and I think I see a slight bulge at the base in that last pic but it's a weird angel... also he has a lot of pattern for his age, if he was a female. I think the only thing that would make me second guess is how pink he is, and how no color seems...

which friendlier - veiled or panther

Panthers! Well in my opinion, I have owned both Veileds and Panthers, every panther has been friendly and craved attention and every Veilied would go crazy if I even walked by the cage....
