Woodlice culturing is extremely easy. Just put them in moist soil and slightly bury some fish food pellets, and let nature take care of the rest. You need to replenish the pellets every 3-4 days. It takes about two months for the culture to establish and explode.
My Panthers are the same way. They love waxworms, superworms, flies and silkworms. They are less fond of crickets and completely ignore dubia's.
I guess the best way is to keep them hungry for a couple of days and see if they're interested then. As long as they're getting a varied diet, it's...
Thanks...Yes, I originally acquired them for dart frogs but now use them exclusively for my Lygodactylus williamsii and juvi chameleons and leopard geckos.
I can trade them with other live food if anyone is interested. Just PM me...
Bean weevils are very common in Europe (my part of the world). They feed and breed on black eyed peas (dry). Very easy to culture and a good source of food for small and baby reptiles. All you need is a container and a pound of black eyed peas to start with. They explode within a few weeks...
I've been raising bean weevils to feed the baby chams and several other reptiles that I keep. However, when they emerge from the beans, they all come out at the same time. I would like to have a steady supply of weevils, not periodic explosions.
Has anyone tried to slow down their development...
I've been adding calcium to the spray bottle for a few months now. I started when my panther female got gravid. So far, no adverse results, except for the white calcium layer on top of the leaves :)
I thought about spraying the leaves with calcium fortified water. She voluntarily licks water from the leaves. Has anyone tried this before?
Or, I can force her to drink from the dropper, but as you said, this might add unnecessary stress. Thanks.
I really need some advice on this..
I plan to go on vacation for a week.
I have 1.1 adult Panthers. I'm not too worried about food because I'm sure they can survive up to a week with some free roaming crickets in the cage.
However, I'm worried about the hydration issue. What kind of a...
Yes, it happened within last 7-8 days I guess. It became really noticeable to me only today. From what you say, it sounds like an infection.
I better go to a vet to get confirmation. Many thanks.
I have a pair of Furcifer pardalis female 8, male 7 months old.
I checked out several resources but could not find info on the minimum age I should breed them. Is it too soon to breed them now? When would be the appropriate time?
Can anyone provide input?
Thanks...
