Banded leaf-toed geckos ( Hemidactylus fasciatus)

Anyone know anything about these guys? Can’t find much info online and what I can find is wrong (says to keep them on sand but they are from the rain forest) I ordered 2 pairs and got offered a steal of a deal on the whole group so I ended up with 10 total.

    Skin crawling

I’m so disturbed right now. I got a order of bugs yesterday and part of my order was a box of 1000 3/4” crickets. Well I was busy most of the day so I didn’t open them until later. By the time I opened the box all the lights were out and I was using a crappy headlamp to see. so I dump the box...

    Chameleon descrption from 350 b.c.e

Found this interesting. This is a description of the chameleon by Aristotle in 350 b.c.e. (part 11) http://classics.mit.edu/Aristotle/history_anim.2.ii.html “The chameleon resembles the lizard in the general configuration of its body, but the ribs stretch downwards and meet together under the...

    Signs your chameleon is dying.

So I thought I would make this thread to help people recognize the signs of a dying chameleon due to another recent thread. Some of the obvious signs that there is something wrong would be lethargy, sitting low in the cage, not eating/drinking, closed eyes, sunken eyes, edema, swollen joints...

    Panther chameleon stressor?

So I got these magnetic rock cliff things a while ago to hold feeder cups for my chams. Melon is completely fine with it and uses it no problem. I had put one in Lennon’s cage when I got them and he hated it. He just sat there for a day or 2 staring at it until I took it out. A few days ago...

    Cynthia’s new cage build

So I’m building Cynthia’s new cage finally. Here’s what I have done so far. I started with a 2x2x4 reptibreeze, cut some corrugated plastic to fit on the back and 2 sides and secured it with thin wire. Next I put down some spray foam and placed the pots in and let it set for a while...

    Lennon and his cage.

After talking to @GoodKarma19 in her enclosure thread I realized I haven’t posted any pictures of Lennon or his cage in a long time. His cage has been somewhat of a chameleon itself with the evolution of changes it has gone through over the past 2 years but I think I finally got it setup...

So I just noticed on the food care image it says moths of all kinds and was just wondering if that meant literally all kinds or if there’s some I should not feed.

    Mulberry leaves!

So for the past month I have been collecting leaves off my mulberry tree and turning them into powder. I have only been taking the biggest leaves and letting the smaller ones grow. I collect a bunch of leaves, cut the stems off, rinse them off, pat them dry with a towel, dehydrate them then...
