    dubia vs cricket

I breed crickets roaches and a bunch of stuff. I use variety so I don't run into issues. I just know some people prefer roaches for reasons I listed. It all break down to where you live, what you can order, and what your Cham likes. To be honest variety is best. But just answering his question.

    Ordering crickets

Most places ship crickets over night to avoid dead crickets. Look into Dubai roaches there easier to care for, live longer, easy to breed an don't smell anywhere near as bad as cricketss. Roaches can be shipped too and usually come priority mail which is a lot cheaper than overnight. Also take...

Also one roach is about 6-7 crickets. I feed mine roaches, worms, veg. Like to give a little variety mine gets bored...

    Heat tape/cable questions

I like the idea of the mat on the outside. I already have 3 sides covered with the thick plastic tattoo artists use. Helps with the humidity and keep the water in when misting. Yea I use a mini heater now in the winter in the general area of his cage. Would rather not run a heater in spring and...

baby veiled cham not eating at all.

Try attaching a cup to your cage and cup feed. Worms, roaches etc. it'll be easier to keep track of what's eaten or if he is eating. Crickets roam loose and could be hard to catch and also have places to hide.

my baby veiled cham is scared of me.

How long have you had him? Chameleons get very stressed very easily. It's easier just to not hold them. Like other reptiles some warm up others don't. If you just got it Id let him be for a while an get situated and then try, maybe take a while to get used to you.

    Questions on breeding dubia roaches

Don't buy from petco they are real young I've seen them are super pricey. Just do a quick google search for colony or eBay has them. Abdragons is a sponsor here but I don't think sells breeders. Check other sponsors check local ads. Your best bet is the web. And with roaches shipping is cheap...

    Questions on breeding dubia roaches

I dropped 50 on a starter colony. Which gave me all ages and a bunch of breeders. 10 for a bin. 5 for food. I spend 2.00 on crystals for water and I spent a few dollars on heat tape to keep bin always warm so they breed and grow faster. Female breeders are usually 1 to 1.50. Males are from .50...

    Questions on breeding dubia roaches

As stated above all you need is a bin. They can not climb. You want egg cartons, the ones that are flat. Use polymer crystals for water and buy roach feed. They like high humidity like 70s 80s good. The water crystals with a little heat source will work great for this and breed fast and grow...
