    Shedding Curiosity...

Funny you should mention this now :) Our 8 month old blue bar panther just did a head/neck shed about a week ago. Then nothing. Today his spine area "cracked open" so to speak, and he's peeling downwards from there, EXCEPT for the head neck area which already completed. This is his...

    He won't leave my shoulder

At my cottage, I have personally seen a large red tailed hawk take a run at a Yorkshire Terrier. He was circling in the thermals and then dived like WW2 Spitfire. Dog didnt see it coming. It was too big for the hawk, but the hawk knocked him over hard enough to roll a few times and there were...

    Trapped!

Same with my 7 month old. If I have the door open, he tries to come out. I actually think he's learned something... If I put a worm on his favorite feeding leaf, he used to snap it up before I even got the tongs out of the way, now, he waits til it falls off to the cage floor, almost KNOWING...

    I've created a monster :)

Funny you should mention that! In the past, when I opened the lid on the cricket tub, he would crane his neck toward it, pick a target and shoot. Now, he does the same thing, except at the last second, lifts his head up and climbs over it directly on my arm :). Its almost like he's faking it...

    I've created a monster :)

Neo, our almost 5 month old Blue Bar panther which we've had for 2 weeks now has a bit of a problem, or perhaps it's us that have the problem :) After he got settled in, I started taking him out of his enclosure at least once per day to get him used to handling, etc. At first he was reluctant...

Up close and personal. this is pretty funny

Today I opened the cage door to feed him, opened the lid on the cricket tub (he likes to shoot right in to the tub, about 10")..........and he comes racing (well, pretty fast) along the vine, climbs over the cricket tub and is on my shoulder in about 3 seconds. I was pretty stunned actually :)...

Cham Spending Time Low in Cage

My 4 1/2 month old was doing this as well. Turns out he was starting a shed and was either getting restless, or trying to peel off the shed by taking some weird, very tight path's through the underbrush :)

So I just realized why he looked dull this morning :) Having a major shed! All 4 legs went white first, now its spreading :)

    Nice Forum

Just an update, he loves the crickets and he gets the odd horn worm and super worm as treats now and again, thought I'd add a new picture to show the growth rate in just a week and a half. He's 15" long now from snout to tail. EDIT: He is 4.5 months old

He came around on the crickets :) :) Had 11 of them so far, mostly out of my hand. Thank goodness. I also purchased another dual lamp setup. A fresh UVB (makes 2 now) and one of those reptivision things. He likes them and I have much better UVB coverage now with 2 bulbs. I wanted to...

    Chameleon weight

Neo just hit 5 months old. Never thought to weigh him, but he is almost 15" from nose to tail. From experience (I'll scale him later) I would say he's half a pound, or 8 ounces, or 225 grams. Neo is almost growing before my eyes as I watch him. I have a rather nice triple beam balance...

Feeling Guilty Keeping my Cham captive :(

Was on a site yesterday where they STARTED at 3 grand :) I am very new to Chameleons, but I'm going to 24x24x48_Or_ ADDING that size to my existing 18x18x36. It would be very simple to remove the screen on one side from both enclosures, then some 1/2 inch angle aluminium around the top and...

The nozzles on the reptirain suck. The entire thing is chintzy for a hundred bucks. The nozzles have poor adjustability, its like OFF or a solid stream. Should have gone with the best to begin with, as usual. I caught him eating a leaf earlier today. I hope to God it was one from the...

Perhaps I reacted a little strongly. I tend to take umbrage when I suspect someone is admonishing me. I have read a little on your links and although I believe most of it is still opinion, I do agree that worms only would be like us eating shrimp and scallops for breakfast, lunch, and dinner...

Whoah there :)....when I say "my liking" of course I have Neo in mind. I research the balls off anything I decide to get into, then spend a boat load of coin to get it right. I've held 2 family dogs in my arms as the needle went in, because it was the right thing to do, no matter how much I...

I will if I can, although I usually work Saturdays and Sundays, at least for a few hours. Its the life of a Sysadmin, no better time to work on the servers than when all the users are gone, and it affords ample time to recover if an update breaks something. NEVER go near a server during the...

    Nice Forum

I did a forum search and it seems fairly common. Funny enough I was approaching the cage at the time, but too fast I think, and maybe he got nervous. He's got some quirks though, like if you move your face in too close he will get VERY aggressive and try to look menacing by opening his mouth...

Thank You :) His name is "Neo" which came about because our Leopard Gecko is "Leo" and also he looks like a NEOn sign when he lights up :) No time to gut load em yet (don't last long enough) but I do get a chunk of "meal" from the pet store with every 10 I buy. I am going to try the big...
