I would have literally kicked the kids teeth in when I found the chams. He's lucky you were nice about it.
On the bright side you recovered some, hopefully one from each linage. Shame.
The other bad part is that the one who initially stole them is still out there probably ready to steal them again.
Get cameras and flood lights and maybe an alarm system on your green house that you keep them in
Unbelievable. So sorry for this, I can't imagine my little buddies being snatched from me, I would end up cracking some skulls.
The breeders are probably in bad shape but I doubt dead. What a shame and a horrible thing to happen. Wish I could help
I'll have to snap a picture when I get home from work tonight then I'll upload one. The only thing that has changed is I took out the ficus which was in the middle of his change 2 months ago or so because the sap was causing eye issues. Everything else is the same. Not sure if you can see...
I have a male panther chameleon a little over a year old and lately he has been going I the bottom of the cage and more worrisome this is the second night in a row I found him sleeping in the pot on the bottom of the cage. Anyone experience something similar? This is odd behavior for him and...
SAMs club has a plastic storage rack for $40 I think, can fit two 2x2x4 cages on in and it's grated so you can place a five gallon bucket underneath on the bottom rack. Water proof and cost effective.
They have similar units at menards and Home Depot look at garage storage
True. That's insane the amount of food they eat regardless. I feel like if you have a couple colonies going of feeders it would be far less expensive. You still will need to order pinheads either way I imagine.
I think it's around $20 for shipping. I honestly don't believe they will chow through 6000 in a week though, perhaps 2 weeks? Still drastically less expensive. I've never fed a newborn clutch however so maybe I have a reality check coming but it just doesn't seem like they would down 6000 a...
Damn that's frightening. I would think the chameleons would just eat the spiders. Sorry to hear about your mom, hope everything is alright.
And of course I love food LOL
I was curious if anyone was interesting in breeding chameleons around the Illinois area, I have a male panther ambilobe.
You can keep the eggs and chameleons all I want is one male from the offspring.
He eats cricket and Dubia and occasionally soldier flies. Nothing new in has diet, could it possibly be sand? The bottom of the cage looked like sand had gotten everywhere but he can't really access the bottom and doesn't really hunt down food that aggressively to begin with..
My adult male veiled chameleon just had some really strange looking poop, never seen this before, any thoughts?
I'm thinking maybe something was blocking and constipating him because his fecals were typically smaller than normal (he is a rescue) and now he just pooped it out? Not sure, please...
