Okay, good to know its not super abnormal. It could be the winter getting to him, his room temps are fairly ideal, and no drafts in the room. But, it could be more of a mood thing than a temperature thing. He stares out at the snowy landscape when he is by the window when the sun gets in it...

I hope everything is going on the upside. Lighting is key, but water is a close second. Do you have an automated misting system? How do you supply him with water? A drinking bowl is not a usual method for hydration.
I couldn't help but think of this when I read the title...
Great Stuff! Im sure you will do great breeding these big beasts!
I just wanted to mention.. not as an insult to you or anyone in the community, but whilst surfing on youtube for Chameleon videos I noticed a very strange central theme to almost all of the chameleon videos... "Horrible Music"...
Sounds like your on your way to providing for your chameleon greatly, just give them time:)
Winslow? As in from "Phantom of the Paradise"? Great Movie!

Here ya go, about half way down the first page. I have been raising silkworms from eggs with great success. Not much time involved. If you are around once a day that's plenty. You can go a few days without needing to change their food if...
Im thinking UVB coverage..
this 6% 24" arcadia im using is around 6-8 months old now, ill replace it soon with something bigger. Should I also go up to a 12% for this setup? I would I be better off getting another ballast and bulb for better coverage?
I will go up to a 48" bulb this time...
Oh yeah im not doubting the issue, i already have a temporary guard up and and going to make one out of the mesh i use. Thanks for the re-assurance.
Other than the bulb. Any other issues you can foresee?
Yeah I figured as much, but I don't necessarily see everyone with free ranges having something covering their heat bulbs.
Im glad I made the switch, I believe he is happy too. colours like never before.
Hey guys,
Over the last month I have slowly been introducing more free range time for my baby panther, and I noticed his appetite increased so I kept with it. He slept out of his cage one night and after that I couldn't put him back in the cage.
SO here we are, total kaizen of the...
Well lets just say I do not have dubia roaches, nor have ever had any.
I am successfully raising my own silkworms and have bought hornworms from local store on occasion. He ate 1 silkworm. That's it, no more interest. I got 30 small silkworms about to out grow my guy, and my second batch...
Well..
I was just feeding my little guy some juicy gutloaded crickets from my hand and having a great time. On the second cricket, this one was extra big and plump.
As I see his eyes fix on the cricket directly in front of my eye sight so that the cricket is directly between mine and his...
Okay so analyze this behaviour.
Ever since I got him, he was never shy about eating in front of me, actually he seemed encouraged to eat with company around (possible competition instincts) Its almost as though he knows that I stay to watch to make sure he eats.
Well after trying dubia's a...
Hey guys,
So I have been raising my ambanja/ambilobe chameleon for almost 2 months now. And although the breeder claims his hatch to be in October, he does not seem to be developing like most chameleons I see at 5-6 months. He has small tinges of blue/green in the body and faint oranges all...
Hey guys,
Just want to thank everyone on the forum for all the wonderful advice I have been given.
A few weeks ago I posted about my little baby not eating much. I was advised to wait until he settles in. Well.. Its been over a month and although his appetite did pick up a little, I think...
