For Sale: BB Ambilobe Panther + full setup - £340

Unfortunately due to a lack of time as my work hours have changed recently and I no longer have the time I used to have to give him the proper care he deserves. He's 22 months old, approx. Very tame and used to being handled. Feeds and sheds well, loves locusts! I'm asking for £300. This...

    Locusts are eating my plants!

Sometimes he'll eat several, sometimes he won't have anything until later in the day, so regardless of how many I put in there's always going to be some left. Plus the size of the viv & how much is in there's it'll be impossible to take out everything he doesn't eat. Also, I'm working full time...

    Locusts are eating my plants!

I put around 30-40 in at a time & they go wherever. The viv's 4ft tall, 3 ft wide & 2 ft deep, so plenty of space for them not to bother him. He doesn't seem to eat a whole lot though, not that I see anyway. Within minutes of putting them in, they're eating the plants!

    Locusts are eating my plants!

This may have already been asked & answered but I don't have time to search for an answer, sorry. I've recently put some live plants into my cham's enclosure & with all the locusts in there, they've suffered majorly! What I'd like to know is which plants are save for chams but locusts/crickets...

Ceramic heater instead of standard bulb?

So I recently bought a digital stat as the old analog dimmer stat finally died and as this isn't a dimmer stat, it turns the heat light on and off when the temps pass the set boundaries. I'm worried this will badly affect my cham, and also shorten the life of the bulb. So, to combat these...

    Crickets/Locusts escaping from my feeder!

Thank you :) Yeah, seems like I'll just have to deal with them escaping for the mean time until I'm able to work something out. If I find a solution I'll be sure to post it!

    Crickets/Locusts escaping from my feeder!

Ah man, I couldn't do that :c even though they're getting eaten anyway, I couldn't take their legs off. I'd feel so guilty doing that aha. If I come up with a solution, I'll be sure to post it to this thread or the build thread I've got going on :)

    Crickets/Locusts escaping from my feeder!

Thanks :) It's really empty as it's early days still, glad you like it so far though! Maybe I could try adding the occasional strip of mesh up the side of the walls so if they continue to escape, they'll have that option to climb up & hopefully he'll see/eat them :)

    Crickets/Locusts escaping from my feeder!

Okay so I'm currently using an old Coke bottle as the bottle feeder for my cham but within minutes (sometimes even seconds!) of putting the crickets or locusts in there, they jump right out. It's a pain in the a*se because unless they're in the feeder, he doesn't seem interested in eating them...

    Adult Vivarium Build

Just some pictures of the adult vivarium from the early days right up to the finished thing. Pictures may include details (such as plants used, design ideas (eg the bottle feeder)), how I managed certain aspects of the build and full vivarium shots.

Don't worry, I'm fully aware of that & have silicone & plastic edging to cover any exposed areas.

Optimus' big new home! - Build Thread

Okay so a lot had happened in the past months and the build has gone in a new direction. Instead of the original design, I'm now converting a 3x4x2 ft vivexotic viv. The thing I'm most pleased about so far is the bottle feeder which I've tried to hide as much as possible. Opinions on this...

    Critique my setup!

Setup Update! Since I was last active, lots has been going on with the pets. Several of our snakes have been sold, two of which we in one 4x3x2 ft viv. As that viv is now vacant, it's become the future home for Optimus and planning for the conversion is now underway! In the meantime, I've...

    Show me your drip systems!

Anyone else have a drip system that they'd like to show off? It doesn't even have to be for a cham. Any drip system is welcome to this thread & I'd love to see them :)

    Critique my setup!

Great news! As we were out today, we went to SeaPets & whilst we were there I decided to buy a plant light :) The light colour already looks much better in there now, as the previous light which it's replaced gave off a really yellow light. This is a daylight bulb so it's much more natural...

    Critique my setup!

I shall be investing in a plant light as soon as pay day comes around then & see how much that helps :) Indeed it was! I've wanted a cham for a little while now & had been planning the viv & setup for several months but was waiting until I had enough money before I started building the viv...

    Critique my setup!

He never/rarely spends time in the basking spot so I thought it was too warm for him so I turned it down a little bit today. Should I turn it back up tomorrow even if he doesn't spend time there?

    Critique my setup!

Okay thanks, I'll look into getting one of them :) The basking temp is around 26.5 degrees Celsius. Don't worry, I'll be making a larger cage for him soon. It's currently in the planning & designing stages. Finding a suitable place is a big challenge but it's looking like there's a great...

    Critique my setup!

There was just one UVB bulb in there originally but it looked too dark in there so I added a second to brighten things up. I know they need the air flow & I know all screen cages are spoken highly of, but over here in the uk the ambient temps would make it extremely difficult to achieve the...
