    New panther chemeleons!

Thank you! I've never owned a panther chameleon before, and I find their "noses" really adorable :D

    New panther chemeleons!

Hello everyone, I'm back! I used to be a bit more active a couple of years ago when I had my t. elliotis (which ended up being so hard to come by it was hard to keep them...) and a female veiled. For those of you that saw my post in the heath section know a bit about my chameleons already, but...

How/What to feed a chameleon missing half her teeth

That's good to know! I'll just have to be persistent and patient with her then, as she still has teeth on both sides (just more on one side). She does know that she can bite better with the one side, so I'm hoping changing her diet to something softer and upgrading slowly will help. Trying to...

How/What to feed a chameleon missing half her teeth

I'll have a look at the top when I am home tomorrow. It didn't look like anything when I checked earlier to take the pictures, but it's hard to focus. Yes, I assume that she had her mouth forced open or bit down on tongs or something like that. She did only try to bite me with the left side, so...

How/What to feed a chameleon missing half her teeth

She's a captive bred chameleon, not wild caught. She looks fine outwardly, just the one part on the right side of her face looks a bit strange, as if she has a small overbite almost, because 90% or so of her teeth are missing on that side. Hardly any teeth on the top, and a very few stray ones...

How/What to feed a chameleon missing half her teeth

Hello everyone! I recently purchased a pair of panther chameleons from my local pet store (The male is such a lovely animal. Very trusting and hand feeds already, I fell in love with him at first sight. I think he saw my red hair and wanted to climb on it!). Both are roughly 2-3 years old...

    Sexing T. Elliott

Sure, although I will admit that I am not a COMPLETE expert, but I will certainly try my best. Should I not be sure, I'll let you know, and then you can post it in the Chameleon Identification section of the forums :D

    Sexing T. Elliott

Sexing them is exactly how you would panthers, only harder. The difference is in some cases very subtle and can sometimes take around 6 months to provide enough certainty :) The male's tail base is thicker whereas the female's would be less so. If you need help, providing good, clear...

    New Chame, Male or Female????

Male :) In the first picture you can see where his man bits are hiding :p

    Male or female ?

I would say this one is female. There is next to no bulge, and you can see a "dent" where it should be.

    Newbie Here Izzabelles enclosure.

Chameleons are neat like that. Marimo has been sleeping in the same spot for a year now. Midori tried to steal his spot last week and he glared at her until she moved! Now he goes to his spot an hour early to make sure he gets his ideal spot. I moved a second vine next to his and now they sleep...

    Obstruction

To prevent Yuki my female veiled from having eggs (She's 1 year and roughly 5-6 months old, never had a clutch) I feed her once a week. She'll get a couple of small crickets every other day when Ryuu doesn't eat them, but otherwise she doesn't get much to eat. I offer her a basking spot...

    Ahhh fruit flies

I heard rubbing a bit of olive oil on the inside of the cup prevents them from being able to climb properly. I have not tried it myself (the cats deal with any escaped bugs) but it could work! ::EDIT:: You could also put a piece of fruit where you are feeding them off. They'll usually stick...

    Opinions Please

Just a general question: Did you run your new houseplants by on the chameleon-safe plants list? I'm just making sure as my female veiled, ever since she went over 6 months, has taken a bite out of every plant I have in there. Every time a new one comes in she MUST try it and make sure it's good...

    New chameleon

I just also wanted to be another person that confirms that your chameleon is indeed male. First picture, male colouring 100%. the spur is also visible in another! Having a male is not a bad thing! They're less maintenance heavy ;)

    am I stressing him?

You have to watch out with grape vines! If they were sand-blasted (I believe that was the cleaning term for it) then they will readily absorb water, causing them to mold and all sorts of things. Just make sure you check them so this can be avoided!

    Colour

Dirt in the plants can be covered with large river stones or anything too big for him to accidentally eat! For a feeding regime, I'd say to feed him no earlier than 1 hour after lights go on and no later than 2 hours before lights go off (so he has some time to digest). In my opinion, the...

    resting head on branch

I don't see anything wrong with him visually :) and if you don't have the feeling he is sick, I'm certain he was just comfortable basking. The only thing I see in that picture is a healthy, beautiful looking panther :D

    resting head on branch

I have two healthy chams that rest their heads on their basking branches while basking. Yuki my female veiled and Marimo the male ellioti. I thought this was fully normal before I got Ryuu who holds his head high and puffs out his throat as if to terrify any intruders while basking, and Midori...

    Number Crickets Monthly?

After reading some of the posts on here, I feel as if I am underfeeding my chams! (They're all kinda porky though.. especially Yuki). With 4 chams, I tend to go through around 100 crickets tops a month... 5-10 roaches, 30 grasshoppers of varying sizes and around 100 flies. All that for 4 chams...
