tail problems
I am experiencing the same thing with my blue bar ambilobe. I have had him for over a year and all of a sudden I look in and the same thing. I thought maybe one of my kids might have pinched his tail when closing the enclosure door after feeding but I don't think that is it!
Jacksons babies
I happened to have 10 unexpected babies by 2 different females. I kept them in a partial glass enclosure to watch them eat and drink. Fruit flies can get throught the mesh of the screen enclosures , I also fed them pin heads as they grew alittle bigger. I started them on small...
I am by no means an expert, but I will say ,if this baby isnt over 4-5 months old , and you are not a breeder who has raised babies before, even healthy, I wouldnt even consider purchasing it. I have had 10 baby chams that have all looked healthy, were eating great and drinking......only to...
Jackson babies
Hi, New to this myself, I had 2 females produce babies within 2 weeks of each other. ( Sept 11 AND 24) One I had only had 3 days and didnt even know either was pregnant. They had a total of 10 babies between the 2 of them and 3 days ago I lost the last. ALL 10 died and I have no...
In my egg bin I just used clean play sand that I added water to to make it wet enough to dig a tunnel in. When it dried out on the top i just poured more water on it and dug in alittle to make sure it was still moist enough inside.......It has worked 2 times so far for me. It is so nerve racking...
My female veiled just laid her second infertile clutch. It was almost 3 months to the date of her first. Will she continue to lay every 3 months?? How soon after she lays do you introduce a male? I hate for her to go thru all this stress and work and have infertile eggs. Last time I waited too...
What are you using in the laying bin?? Maybe you need something different. My female has lain eggs 2 times. I used the same box and sand both times and she had no problems. I used a clear plastic box and filled it with a 50 pound bag of playground sand that i wetted down and packed it so it was...
My female laid her second clutch almost 3 months to the day of her first. She has never been bred. From what I have read I too am feeding her too much. She always seem to be so hungry......
I also got female Jacksons that were already pregnant when I got them. The babies need ALOT of fruit flies!! I made sure to tap some in a couple times a day!! As far as water. i sprayed the sides of the glass. I keep the babies in a terrarium with the screen top until they are big enough to...
I got his mouth open and got a tiny bit of liquid calcium in but then he closed up. I dont want to hurt him. Im gonna try the rub between his eyes and the credit card thing, He drank alittle but just a tiny bit. His head still has the puffy bumps and I have NEVER seen any pictures of any chams...
I went to a Pet Smart today 100 miles away!!! I got some liquid calcium and wax worms( thats the only kind of worms they had besides meal) I have NOT been able to get his mouth open even for water. tomorrow i AM going to stick with it until i get something in him!! The worms were all dead ...
As long as you have potted plants in her enclosure you can even use ice cubes on the top of the cage over the plants.......making a dripper is pretty easy tho. If you get a fish tank air valve shut off , some fish tank tube and a clear plastic container. poke a hole close to the bottom on the...
I try to pay attention to the colors I wear when cleaning cages and even feeding my chams. They use colors to communicate. If you have ever tried to put a male in with an unreceptive female you will know black or dark spots isnt a great color to wear. Im fairly new at this, but I do notice what...
Its funny all my chams face down on their branches when they are "hunting" and it is usually in the morning. They are thirstyist at 4 in the afternon. When I got my female veiled she was about 9 mo old and was eating 4-7 med crickets a day dusted 3 x a week and gut loaded with a store bought gut...

Thanks so much for all your imputs!! I will try some rescuecal and try to get some butter worms or something more than meals or wax. Chameleons are a fairly new challenge for me, but they have been exciting and we have enjoyed them so much. Watching (unexpected) babies "hatch" (my Jacksons...
He hasn't had much to drink for days. I have actually only seen him drink 2 times. The way he strikes at food and misses makes me wonder about his eye site.
