There is a girly jacksons cham for sale locally. The owner said she recently gave birth to a few dead babies, no live ones. Is this chameleon in very poor health? That just doesnt sound "healthy" to me. O.o what could be the culprit behind this?
Now my little guy is about a month away from being old enough to come home with me i'm gonna be starting to make sure everything is all set for him. :D
I tried doing some research for youngin' panthers but I didn't find much that was too reliable, and i just want to make sure things are...
Some really pretty looking little ladies! :)
The first picture is of the little girl I saw a photo of and was the one I had my heart set on, she was a definite. But when we got to the breeders house and looked through the other babies, she gave us a really good deal on them because she has...
I can only post so many chameleon related items on facebook, without pissing my friends off...
It makes me seriously sad that my chams don't really do this.

Just wondering who else from Canada is around/gonna be making their way to Red Deer for the Western Canadian Reptile Expo in august? :)
Or if anyone has any leads on what chameleons are going to be for sale  - it's hard to plan for a reptile when you don't know what you'll be coming...
I've known for a while I would be getting leopard geckos, so I pretty much had all I needed for them. When we went to the petstore yesterday (for completely different reasons) and I saw this little beauty marked down, I asked why. They told me she needed to be hand fed, so her last owners...
Many people name their chameleons after Pascal, and it got me wondering what kind of chameleon he "was" (You know, besides an animated one) Most people seem to think he looks like a veiled - which I don't think he does one bit. I'd say senegal.. They're a fairly generic looking chameleon.
As of this weekend I've stumbled into a sisterly pair of 6 year old(ish) bearded dragons. The sister-in-law of an ex co-worker asked me on behalf of one of her friends if I could take in these two for a couple months until their owner finds a home where he can live with them. She knew he needed...

When we first brought out rescue veiled, Kale, home. He was a really excellent eater. Right now I feed both guys a mix of crickets and super worms every other day. When i would put his crickets and worms in he'd eat his crickets pretty quickly, and his 1-2 worms. But all of it was usually eaten...
We were getting our veiled out today so we could give him his dose of reptaid and when we were just getting the dropper in his mouth he made.. this little whiny, whimpering sound - like a sad puppy. It was the most heart breakingly adorable sound i've ever heard come from a chameleon.
Has...
We got both of our new cages for the chameleons this week!
Kale has been upgraded from his 65gallon that he was kept in before we got him to a 120 gallon from LLLreptile. He has SO much more space to wander in now. Updated with more vines, foliage, some perches, and a ladder for his basking...
We took our veiled to the vet yesterday (he was awesome by the way, well behaved, healthy too. YAY!)
But she weighed him, and then when I got home I weighed my panther...
Kale (veiled, year and a half) 220g, Picasso (Nosy be, 1 Year) 84g.
What do your male nosy bes and veileds weigh?
I really like the MistKing.
But every once in a while it just stops spraying. There is water, the motor is going.. just nothing is happening.
and the only way I found to fix it is to unhook all the tubes, drain the water from it, and hook it back up.
Any thoughts?
:)Well here he is, Our "rescue" Veiled.
He eats very well. Plenty of crickets, likes his super worms, LOVED the horn worm
We have some "Reptaid" on order for Picasso and we're going to be giving some to Kale as well.
Before we got him he got burned pretty badly. We don't...
I gave them a bit of shredded carrot today..within a couple hours it was completely devoured.
I couldn't believe it.. I've never had the crickets make any gutload disappear.
But these guys? Nope, completely gone.
So, what should I be using for them? Basically the same stuff as...
When we did our weekly food shop for the children, I grabbed some horn worms to try out. I think it's safe to say it was a pretty big hit. Picasso gobbled it up as soon
as it hit his dish. And Kaleidoscope (Who hasn't moved away from his heat source since we brought him home) saw it, and...
Me and the boyfriend just went and picked up this guy. Just finished setting up his new home.
Poor baby had some pretty bad burns in the past. He seems to be a sweetheart though. :D I liked the name kaleidoscope, boyfriend HATES it. We compromised on "kale"... Sort of. ;)
We are going out tonight to take a look at a pretty year and a half old male Veiled Chameleon. I'm so excited! My boyfriend saw the ad on kijiji, and the poor little guy has had a burn on him from his heat lamps a while ago. Apparently it's all healed now.
Is there anything we need to know...
