Thanks!
Checked out the hardware cloth...awesome! Thanks!
Going to do 1/2 inch hardware cloth on interior and coated aluminum screening on the exterior area of cage.
Probably going to put some sunshade screen (I'm not sure if that's the correct name or not) on half or full area of the...
Hey,
I'm looking to build a gigantic custom cage in my backyard in SoCal. I have all the framework and flooring done and am now trying to figure out what screen is good.
Fiberglass? Aluminum? plastic?
I've read that metal screening can do some damage to chameleons feet.
I'm...
Hello,
I've had my chameleons for 2 years and I love them to death...but I have to move to California and cannot take them across country.
I have one adult male Veiled (beautiful coloring)
and
I have one adult female panther chameleon
Will give them away to a good home with all...
Hello! I havent been on here for awhile.
So…I know you want the husbandry form….but Im finishing up work and crazy busy and trying to take care of my cham.
I wish I could.
My panther is about 7 months old. He has had the same set up since I got him. Always very active. Same lights...
It's my moms chameleon and she's now changing the story....
She said she saw him layin there on the floor and then he walked up to the top of the cage.
And she has him out right now and she said his grip isn't as strong...as in it's normally painful it's so tight, now it's kinda tight...
I have had my veiled for about 4 months now, he receives the same husbandry as my panther who I got at 2 weeks old and is now 6 months old.
For some reason my veiled has always loved running on the floors in my house. He will ignore the wonderful free range I give him and go straight to the...
So other than caring for my chameleons, I love being a professional photographer.
I was able to enter a contest than can really advance my career....and thats where I need your help...

Just caught my chameleon boy, Hubble, relieving himself and I noticed something I have never see before: his urate was like an egg in that it had clear mucus (like an uncooked egg) encasing a solid white urate.
What is up with that?
one thing I noticed is that it looks like there is a pool of water underneath your paper towels. Thats probably making your humidity very very very high.
I went through a similar issue. I bought a 2 week old panther from a shop and they told me he needed a screen-less cage and to provide many...
A cave for a chameleon isn't something normal...
But if I was a chameleon I WOULD BE PSYCHED!
Sounds like a great secure-feeling hiding/sleeping place to me. Plus I can only imagine how much fun it would be to corner crickets inside there.
In my opinion, I would keep it...make sure to clean...
you have to be feeding him drugs...or alot of spinach (like popeye). I thought he was 5 or 6 months....whaaaaatt!
He's insanely bright for that young! Holy crap!
I have an infrared temp gun I use to check the temps. His color looks great. I can see some patterning and hes a good lightish lime color.
He doesn't crackle when he breathes and his head isnt pointed up. The only possibly weird thing about his behavior is he clings his body to his branch. He...
Thanks for explaining everything.
However, I and still a little confused why he is basking 90% of the time.
When I feed him he sprints over to the crix and devours them like nobodys business. Then returns to his basking light. On the 8th he went through a complete shed as well.
I figured it...
Wow, thank you so much. I always rather understand the science behind things, rather than just follow it blindly. I agree with you, I rather have him live a hot, happy life!
I am still trying to figure out the best way to provide heat for my veiled and not fry him with a stronger bulb.
