so i have a new veiled chameleon after my 5 year old veiled died, but i'm having some issues.
he is very scared, they kept him in a mesh enclosure at the pet shop, he seems like he has never been handled a day in his life so is going to be very hard work to tame him.
he's a 7 month old...
i have a large fish tank that i'm going to be emptying and making a home for 2 pygmy's, unsure of which as i'm torn between 2 (advice on which would be nice!) Rhampholeon Kerstenii/Kenya Pygmy or Rhampholeon Brevicaudatus/Bearded Pygmy, and will be a breeding pair.
the fish tank i have is...
i asked before about him https://www.chameleonforums.com/lethargic-chameleon-81649/
but now i know that he is dieing, he is completely stiff but is still alive and does try to move, is taking water but not eating.
can i give him some sugary water to give him some energy??
is there...
i have a veiled chameleon male. he's nearly 5 years old.
today i found him in the bottom of his vivarium which is unlike him, he was very pale, but would not move from the bottom, so i lifted him up and placed him under one of the heat lamps, he still wouldnt move, still pale after an hour...
i have been feeding my chameleon by hand because he's old and his aim is not the best, so food escapes him, unless i feed him by holding the crickets/locusts close to him he would never eat enough.
now i have a problem, he has associated my hands/fingers with food, every time i go to pick him...
anyone know how far this ban is going to go? if it's only effecting EU (where i am) and what might be covered under this ban? what the hell are reptile keepers going to do with a blanket ban on all 60w bulbs and Halogen bulbs?
http://uk.news.yahoo.com/say-goodbye-to-60-watt-lightbulbs-.html
well this is a little time off yet, so i'm going to prep and try to go about this well informed and prepared.
so i have a spare room that is not going to be doing anything at all, so i'm planning on makeing about 6 or more vivs (like the ones in pet shops), hopefully there will be 3 or 4 per...
The problem is there all in the bed room, were all my animals are, and there in everything, all the plant pots, all the viv, in all amphibians and reptile vivs.
Anyone know how I could get rid of them, in a way that won’t kill my other animals?
I got the regular mealworms, crickets and...
this hasnt happend over time, it just happend pretty much 3 days ago when he started shedding. He's about 3 and a half years old now, and is extremly friendly usually.
it's like he's just switched, he wont let me any where near him, usually when his shedding he lets be rub the skin that is...
i know that you can refrigerate meal worms. I have always ordered a bulk pack of crickets and they have never lasted more then a month without them all dieing. can they be refrigerated like mealworms?
it was quite funny when it happend, but now thinking it might be more serious then it looks as he broke the skin.
what happend was, i placed a waxworm on my hand, and my yemen chameleon is getting a little old and off target, he fired out his tongue, and insted of hitting the waxworm, he hit...
i was browsing another forum and came accross this and it really shocked me:
http://www.scottishexoticreptilesforum.co.uk/reptile-room-pictures/3409-my-cham-set-up-leanne.html
how could this have happend to the chameleon? the thing that gets me is that no one has mentions the chameleond...
at my local pet store, they have a new to the market chameleon, 'Pitless Pygmy Chameleon' 'Rhampholeon nchisiensis'
they are very small, and they have about 5-6 in a small viv.
they claim that they do not need much UV lighting because they are ground dwelling chameleons, and that they can...
i know this isnt the place to ask, but i dont know any other forum or place i could get an answer.
i'm in UK, and we had some real hot days, and today i went into the garden to find 3 dead slow worms. i've never come accross them in my garden before but there must be quite a few for me to...
so today in the morning, i'm gussing my wife got up for work, knocked over the container that has about 1kg of mealworms that i just bought, didnt tell me and went to work, i woke up a few hours later to find a semi filled box. mealworms are still all over the place, is there any easy ways to...
I’m getting a little fed up of buying these reptile specific basking and spot lamps that only last a few months, yet cost the same as about 8 normal spot bulbs. I’ve got a light tube for UVA/B, is there actually any need for me to get a certain bulb, or could I use a normal spot bulb? what’s so...
my veiled/yemen chameleon male, which is about 2 and a half years old looks to have a bulge at the front of his eye, but it only appears in the right eye, and is only present when he's sitting and not moveing it, as soon as he starts to move it it's gone and all looks normal. been trying to get...

I’m a little worried, with this ban that is being proposed to ban the sale of incandescent bulbs of 100w (obviously it will start to cover all wattages). The cheapest bulbs that I and probably most of us can afford and use (even if price isn’t a factor) are the incandescent type bulbs, will the...
i forget were i saw it, but it was a while ago, and there’s a chameleon that incubates the eggs/embryo inside her, and then gives birth to live chameleons in a sticky thing and it sticks to branch's in trees were she gives birth. Anyone know what kind of chameleon it is?
