Is it normal for spines to fall off 5 months after a burn? Or is something else contributing to this like stuck shed around the spines? I'm devastated.

I am struggling with temps. They are mid 70s now at basking with a 60w incandescent. I believe the burns occurred using a CHE, which I have stopped using. Just wanted to make sure. Hope they heal OK.

What is this? Obvious dark patches while sleeping.

When I temp the CHE itself with the 85-90 degrees. I've read here that up to 100 is ok for adult veileds, so not totally sure. It is easier to get to 90 in the summer here.

Update: another concerning symptom is the spot or area around it stays light colored. It doesn't really change when he goes into dark mode. Is this something a burn does as well?

The shed looks normal to me. Just make sure it doesn't constrict around the tail. Also, don't try to peel it off.
