IMO I don't think you are ready for a chameleon yet. This ins't an animal you can try to cut corners with. These are delicate reptiles with specific needs and those needs have to be met or the chameleon doesn't stand a chance. I encourage you to rethink your situation considering you are going...

I bought it at home depot and it was outdoors in full sun and I was lucky it didn't have any problems when I moved it inside.

I actually don't know how lol. I have to rotate it outside for a couple hours every 3 weeks or so because I notice the leaves get droopy. I think mine gets witty because it doesn't get that much water while its in the cage; the water I spray falls off the leaves and down to other leaves and...

Oh dang thats insane! I still haven't figured out what I am going to do with the sides to cover them but I'm thinking I will use Great Stuff foam to cover the back of the cage.
