    Easy plants for chameleons

I have a snake plant ( Dracaena trifasciata, a.k.a. Sansevieria trifasciata ) in with my panther. It's in a back dark corner, and doesn't get much mist—watered by hand—but it's been thriving there for 7 months. It's a dracaena, so it should be safe for veileds. The leaves are so thick & tough...

Do you have a plant light? Aside from pothos and philodendron, most plants need supplemental lighting or they die. I can’t remember if snake plants are safe or not. I do think it would get too much moisture though even if it is safe.

Update on my plants situation I got dragon ledges finally! I am going to pick up my spider and snake plant today. I’m looking to hang my pothos off the dragon ledges but I’m having trouble finding pots that I can just hang sideways off of it. What kind of pots does everyone use? I’m only finding...

Help Chameleon fell from the top of the cage!

I'd say keep an eye on him...but chameleons evolved with dropping from trees as a natural defense from predators like snakes. So hopefully he will be OK. Maybe some bruises from the fall depending on how the plant caught him. Keep an eye out for him using his legs, black spots which would...

    Crabs...

Yes, but didn’t Ol’ Stinkeye then proceed to eat 6 of everything? Spike only has a pothos and a snake plant. The pothos gets trampled and the snake plant has been climbed once.

LED plant light - safe or bad?

Part of that is balancing where plants are placed. Low light plants will do fine at/near the bottom (I have a snake plant in a back corner that's doing fine after a year) while full sun plants should be closer to the light (or unobscured). I know that sounds like a "Duh" statement, but some...

    Probable coccidia again. Causes?

Apparently Entamoeba Invaden isn't very common and is mostly found in wild caught animals...specifically snakes..if ever come across. I honestly have no idea where my boy got it. I bought him from a family on KSL who could no longer take care of him. They had a collection, it could have come...

    Feel Good Chameleon Keeping stories

Hi everyone! I'm Mark the Dutchie over here. As I owned reptiles in the past (snakes, iguana's, phelsuma's, etc.) I never owned a chameleon, always wanted to but was afraid of the stories of them being difficult to keep. In December 2020 during COVID and semi lockdowns, it made me eager for...

...is https://www.sansiled.com/70w-led-grow-light-full-spectrum.html My umbrella plant ( Schefflera arboricola ) is thriving under it. Snake plant ( Dracaena trifasciata ) is a dracaena, so should be chameleon safe, however they do well with low/subdued light, and don't like a lot of watering...

I want to build a custom Atrium enclosure for peach fuzz does anyone have some ideas?

No, no, no. I have a snake plant in my enclosure, and probably shouldn't. They also like dry conditions and low-light, so it's stuck in a back corner where it doesn't catch any mist or light. The chameleon likes climbing those tall leaves though. We reptile keepers also need to become...

    Hello

That is a lot of great information. Thank you! I don't have a ton to report as I'm trying to collect needed materials. In the meantime, my wife keeps perusing various websites and forums for pictures in a not so subtle hint that I need to get my backside in gear. I believe she is only looking...

    Chameleon closed both eyes

Awesome. Thank you again for the tips. Feels a little weird having an aggressive animal since both my snake and my turtles are extremely friendly, but I’ll work on turning it around. I’m currently cleaning my turtle filter and then I’ll be hitting a few garden centers near by. Thanks again.
