Well I guess the situation has improved since he is no longer bleeding and has healed over. Everything was tucked in as it should be but he still seems swollen. Now he is protruding again. The vet said parasites might have caused him to strain but I had his fecals checked and everything was good...
The thing I didn't like about the window screen is that when the Cham is an adult and they try to climb they would slip off and sometimes fall. This was my solution and you can hang stuff off of it depending on how heavy it is.
I have a 3 month old female panther and I keep her in an 18x12x20 screen cage and I think it's perfect for her. I have a 40w basking light on her cage, like others have said just watch the temps. And also he should be able to feed on much larger crickets than pin heads. Mine is eating 1/4-3/8"...
I agree, if it's choosing to climb on you then it wouldn't be stressing it out too much. My chams want nothing to do with me so I dont handle them. They are still young so I'm hoping the'll lighten up at some point. And I too think that its a female.
Wow, I didn't know panthers were illegal in pr, I'm guessing its because they don't want them to populate the island. I've seen iguanas around that aren't indigenous and I've read that lion fish are a problem too.
I've found that they are all different in regards to color, the panther in my...
The guy in my avatar is my last panther, unfortunately I lost him a couple years ago at the age of five. I just recently got a new nosy be that is 5 months old.
Thanks very much for all the help and the links, this time around having found this site there is so much information. I'm just...
Thanks for the link, good info there. But how do I determine which supplements suit my needs? My Cham stays inside, I've only had him less than two weeks but I plan on mixing up his feeders as best I can with crickets being the staple. I gut load with fruits and veggies right now but will be...
I've seen some discussion about how to supplement but I haven't really seen the supplements themselves discussed. I would assume some supplements might be better than others but how do you know which is which? Currently I'm using rep-cal calcium w/ no d3 twice a week, rep-cal calcium with d3...
I've always put rocks in the pots of my plants to cover the soil so that the Cham won't accidentally pick up anything from the soil while trying to catch prey. I also don't use any substrate so that the bottom is easy to clean.
Thanks, I've been debating on how to get that pothos off the bottom of the cage. Ideally I'd like to get some kind of tree in there. The wife likes the hibiscus, I bought a small cheap one to see if I can't mange to kill it.
I have to figure out how to set up the drain as well. I'm think...
So a pothos is a pothos. For your question I'm guessing its an over fertilized gold since there is a leaf with a darker green streak, but it's only a guess. I've only ever been successful at unintentionally killing plants.
Pothos isn't even on that list unless I missed it?
My daughter named our new guy Cosmo and he came in a little larger than we thought so I had to get his large cage together and just wanted to show it off a bit. It's your standard 2x2x4 screen cage from lllreptile. I used this same cage for my last panther and as an adult he would still try to...
Well the breeder has done what he can at this point and I think everything is good at that end. This guy went to the vet yesteray and started the prescribed treatment of an anti-inflammatory and ointment for his hemipenes that are partially sticking out of his vent. This morning he was able to...
I use a vinager and water solution to clean the calcium deposits on my aquarium equipment. I just let it soak for a few hours and then hit it with a tooth brush, works great. It should work well for your mist nozzle as well.
Yes and no, there are still a lot of people on the fence about LEDs. I myself find that the best option is and led/T5 combo getting the benefits of both without the draw backs.
There are no specialized bulbs, it uses the same bulbs as a non-dimming fixture so I would imagine any T5 bulb...
