    Florida F1 veileds, Available NOW!

Ok, I got some pics of the malicious thing outside. He was not too happy once he saw me. Before I stepped outside, he was looking amazing. The pictures are of him in his worst mood - angry/scared, but not displaying. He has amazing wide, ultra-bright yellow bars on his sides. His belly...

    Why

I've got a male veiled that would take issue with that!

    Why

people have been saying that panthers would be cheaper for a long time. Thing is, they keep in high demand for several reasons. Marketing, the low quantity of "pet" animals available (small clutches, harder to breed/hatch/raise, and the fact that female pardalis make much less desirable pets...

    Why

The reason panthers are worth $300 and veileds $50 is because that is what people are willing to pay for them. Demand sets the price. Supply and demand. Panthers are harder to breed than veileds. It's just that people are willing to pay a premium for some animals. Part of it is...

    Florida F1 veileds, Available NOW!

I have a bunch of little guys ready to ship now. They're now 2 months old and eating 3/8" and 1/2" crickets. Both parents were FLORIDA Wild Caught animals. The father is just about 22" total length, with a huge casque. He has wonderful colors. Unfortunately, he's not the friendliest...

Seeking opinions on Casque scar tissue-

the scarring on his head (and back - it's subtle, but the dorsal crest does appear to have been slightly burned as well) is most likely from a burn. Which, is, most likely due to the 100W bulb being too close. Very easy to do with 100W bulbs. By this point there is no reason to apply any...

OK....whats going on with this egg????

if it's not just about to hatch, chances are it's from too much moisture. The egg can swell and essentially pop. The shell weakens from the welling, tiny flaws appear, and the contents seep out.

    4 Month veiled died suddenly

Do you use the cricket gels to water the insects? Sudden deaths for me have always been from an ingestion. I lost one that ate a dry water crystal, which swelled inside.

    C.H.Male trying to mate

How often has he done this? Maybe when I clear some of these veileds out, I'll have room for them again... I wouldn't be surprised if you get them to breed this year. By the way - thank you again for the nasty roaches. I'm going to get them well established like my dubia.

    Been away a while...

Well, out of 19 eggs laid, 19 eggs hatched. always nice when that happens! Especially after such a busy, rough year (and losing so many animals). They incubated a long time, and came out huge. I gave them 1/8" crickets for the first week, just in case they wouldn't try to eat 1/4" crickets...

    bulging lips...

I had a recurring problem witha wc deremensis a few years back. Swollen lips. I believe it was, in fact, Carlton who suggested avitamin C problem. This guy had recurring oral abscesses along with the swelling. I had kept his vitamins limited to just d3, for fear of giving too much. I upped...

    Been away a while...

I'm posting this (and started the topic) from that phone. I went ahead and got an upgrade to the new droid X. It's terrible in low light, but takes great pics otherwise - it had 8MP and an HD video camera. The best thing is that it has a huge screen, so you can bypass the mobile version of a...

    Been away a while...

I lost most of my animals in a short period of time. I lost 4 CB male veileds, 4 females (2 WC, 2CB), Ardi, my 5 year old CB melleri, and shortly afterwards, my CH male deremensis just dropped dead. All this happened within a month or two. Every animal was plump and healthy when they...

    Been away a while...

Hey guys, Ive been busy. I start nursing school next month, so I'll be even busier! In the past year, I've lost a lot of animals. I transferred the melleri to my brother for a while. I just have two adult chameleons... And aload of babies. The little guys have started to hatch. They...

Sad story. Amazing how often I see this with baytril.

What do wax moths eat? Nothing?

once you get the mixture right, they'll breed like nothing else. The mixture is tricky, too dry, and the larvae cannot eat it. Too moist and sticky, they canot move and will all die. The NEXT problem is keeping enough of it in there. When deprived of food, the larvae go on a rampage in...

    Social Phobia

I has what would now be diagnosed as "social anxiety disorder" - stagefright in all social situations. I was afraid to be in public, talki n front of groups, even hang out with more than one friend at once. From middle school through high school to early college. Keepin tree-lizards didn't...

    Homemade water crystals

you can buy dry crystals from watergelcrystals.com (I think that's the page). I use them to maintain my instects, but I avoid using them with small crickets destined for small chameleons - I lost a month old veiled to them. It ingested a partially dehydrated crystal - stuck to a cricket, or...

For those that are familiar with dubias

Hey Carlton, how are you? Dubia do fly mostly when hungry. But they do fly. I've seen them appear someplace they should not be. Like in the cage with some baby veileds... huddled in the corner, trying to pretend they're not there.
