    Air Conditioning for Chameleons?

I wouldn't turn the AC up very high, just enough to keep the terrarium from getting to warm. The Chameleon Handbook also mentioned the fact that AC dries out the terrarium and I was thinking of humidifying the air as it leaves the AC or putting a damp cloth over the outake. The fact that a...

    Air Conditioning for Chameleons?

Thanks for the feedback, The problem is that I would like to have complete control of the temperature in my terrarium. If the temp is to high, turn on the AC. If the temp is to low, turn up the heat bulb and/or heater. The temperature in the terrarium would probably never get much higher...

    Air Conditioning for Chameleons?

Hey everyone, I am going to get a mountain chameleon, probably a four horned. The only problem is that I live in a rather warm climate. According to the Chameleon Handbook, a miniature air conditioning system should be used in the terrarium. Does anyone know if this is true? Also...

keeping my cat away from cham cage

Mabye you should consider getting a glass terrarium. When my bearded dragon was in a glass terrarium my cat did not bother him or the crickets. Also, the cat won't be able to pull down the terrarium as she cannot grip the glass and is not strong enough to move it. Hope that helps. :)

Should I get a humidifier or misting system?

Hey Guys I am thinking of getting a four horned chameleon (quadricornis) and would like to know which would be better for this mountainous species: A humidifier or a raining-misting system. Would a misting-raining system scare a chameleon? Wouldn't it just soak the place...

    Screen cage or glass cage?

Hi, I've been thinking to get a chameleon (a humid species such as jacksons or quadricornis) and would like to know if a screen or glass terrarium would be better. How does a screen terrarium keep the fog and humidity in? wouldn't the fog just escape through the walls? However, would a...
