completely forgot ive had his waterfall off for 3 days due to fly larvae thing problem...
just gave him a spray and he's been drinking it off the glass! so i think maybe dehydration... he's never 'drunk' like that before....
feel guilty now... poor dude

he seems to have gone back to his sleeping branch ... still hissing a bit... maybe he just fell in his sleep and gave himself a fright?

just looked over and usually sleeping chameleon has half fallen off branch and is puffed up and gaping... hissing and changing colour... arms seem a bit frozen....... any ideas??
my viv seems to be inundated with tiny little flies... not fruit ones... they are laying in the waterfall..
any ideas how i should get rid of them without causing issues for the chameleon.....
he has to be hand fed so doesnt eat the flies grrrrr
and the random false widow spider i have...
went yesterday with my little boys...
wasnt that impressed... dont think they were either!
at least its not likely to cause a massive surge in chameleon purchasing ....like nemo did

my male Yemen seems really keen to come out of his viv.... im on school holidays at the moment so he's seeing more of me during the day.
Is it ok for him to wander around the shelves and things if i'm watching?
or is it actually more stressful for them and cruel....

i must say i think chameleons are greatly helped by sites like this...
it does seem to me they arent an ideal pet unless your a bit of an expert...even the pet shop staff arent as knowledgable as you guys... and they ought to be to be selling joe bloggs a chameleon!!

i took them both in.. male is fine.. we scanned the female (for free so my vet could learn on the job!) we could make out eggs we think..... but she was in such a bad state... literally lying on her back eyes just not moving... so we thought it would...

donna i've read that too... i left her for 3 hours had a very carefull peak and again 3 hours later and she hadnt moved once...
far too weak i think.....
i moved her back into the viv to warm up and agian she hasnt moved in 4...

my local lovely vet called dallas has agreed to slot me in tonight at 8 oclock so im going to bring them both in to see her and see what she thinks.... at least then i'll know whats what... she's no expert but used to keep water dragons!

ive had one vet in raynes park call me back.. he says that she needs heat in the sand box too.. but i ant fit it in my viv..... and have no plugs in my shower... nowhere else in my flat is safe from 2 cats and 2 toddlers!!
i cant aford the £400 quote for surgery so i think i may have...
ok the little dear has been sat in a 12 inch deep toy container in the shower cubicle of my ensuit for 3 hours...... and no sign of any kind of digging... scraping.... moving.....etc
calling round alsorts of vets and none of them deal with reptile.... oh joy
im convinced she must be eggbound...
