Just got this baby today from member drcrossfire. This is my first panther so I am really stoked! I will be posting regularly as he grows, hopefully he won't be too camera shy:eek:
It got pretty hot in my Cham room today. I read 94 degrees in the basking area. Should i turn off the basking light on 80-90 degree days or just put a fan in the room to move the air about?
Thanks
This is an 18 x 18 x 5 inch base that goes directly under a standard chameleon enclosure. Water from misting and drip systems will go down the screen covered center drain an be collected in a receptacle in the drawer in the base.
Simple and sturdy plywood construction and a smooth sliding...
I feel like he is creating a negative association with me because when I mist he runs for the hills. Do I have to hit him with the misting or can I spray the lower part of his enclosure away from him. I don't see him drink so I worry about hydration. I do have a dripper that I put ice cubes into...

I have a baby veiled that is super shy. I have had him 3 weeks and he is in an entry room, pretty quiet area except when someone enters or leaves the house. He hides whenever I enter the room. If he is basking he will make for cover when I get close. Would it be better to move him into a busier...
I think the look amazing when they puff up! Mine recently hissed and puffed up big, he even tried a few lunge bites. I was a bit surprised since I was just trying to feed a superworm, but I was insisting a bit too much, LOL
I have a 4-5 month old veiled and I have fed many superworms, some froma cup, some with the long tweezers, some I stuck to the screen near the Cham and I have even left them free in the enclosure. The Superworms tend to crawl up the screen and he would pick them off. I did find a few managed to...
I have two cats and want to keep a chameleon enclosure in my living room. The cats have free reign of the house so they will probably eventually see the cham moving about in the enclosure, not to mention teh bugs crawling around. I plan to elevate the enclosure on a corner table to about 5ft...
Thanks all, I will up the humidity. It is possiblethat the droppins are old by the time I get to them. I generally find them early in the morning or in the early afternoong when I get home. I just noticed that lately they seem to be hetting dryer vs. the ones that I have been removing routinely...
Poop is super dry should I be worried? Feeding crickets and superworms, misting a few times a day and have a cup dripping ice melt, about 12 oz. Per day.
Thanks, Turningdoc. I used double stick tape, the thin film stuff used to weatherproof windows in winter with the plastic sheeting. I attached the tape all around the enclosure and then put the landscape cloth on and pulled it taught and trimmed with a razor. It came out really sharp!
