Hi
I am thinking of concentrating my collection on some of the lesser kept chameleons, and was now thinking of selling my male Yemen chameleon depending on interest.
This guy was hatched in November 2009 and I have had him about a year. His body is 7-8 inches long and he has fantastic...
Thanks, have removed her and will try again tomorrow.
Yes this is my first breeding of chameleons and looking forward to the offspring as the male is a really nicely coloured animal as you can see below (he is a lot brighter than the photo shows in real life though)
Hi
Have finally introduced my Veiled chameleons to each other, and my fears of a very aggressive male (towards me) never materialised and instead mated with no problems in a surprisingly gentle way.
Now there is no clear advice on this (and probably no set rule) other than the fact the...
He is still very small (about 2 inches) and was told that as he had a larger bump on the top of the snout compared with his siblings that he was likely a male. I think the other way to tell is that the males have a thicker base of the tale when adult - but this is a long way off ...
Hi jojackson
This is not a Veiled this is a Chamaeleo Hoehnelii (Von Hohnels or High Casqued Chameleon). I already have Veiled's and they are very different. It is my first of this species and was lucky to get a good CB animal.
Hello Guys
Not sure if this has been mentioned on the forums already but members outside of the UK may be interested in knowing that the BBC has been screening a new series by David Attenborough called 'Madagascar'. Here is a link to the latest installment (3.) but there have been two other...
Nice work! Yes would be great to see a step by step guide. Think have sussed out everything from the photos, other than the best method to attach the mesh to the frame?
Yes tried a few to see that my adult male Yemen would actually eat them, then my wife started feeding her beardie them when locust/cricket supplies were running low  so the population took a bit of a dent, before I explained the plan! Just a tip but I keep mine on top of the beardie's...
Started with a small starter of about 50 made up of adults, juvis and babies (because it is so expensive buying a large amount/developed colony in one go), and have had them approx 4-5 months.
They have bred alot and have hundreds if not thousands of babies, but they are very slow to develop...
Thanks everyone - yes think it will be a little trial and error seeing at what height to mount them above the viv - but aslong as normal halogens bulbs are ok to use then that is fine.
Hi Laurie
Thanks - so you use just a standard 50w halogen spot - not flood or any other specific type (I note that Exo Terra do a 35w - but most people seem to be saying that it is no different from a standard halogen bulb really)?
Just wanted to check that I wasn't thinking of doing...
