Intro:
Not many folks on the forum own Senegals, and as a first time owner, I have found this breed to be a very entertaining and peculiar breed of chameleon. My chameleon, Peppers, is a one year old Senegal that I have had the pleasure of caring for for the past five months (As of 10/2010). I...
My Senegal does this. I had to move my cricket container because every time I would open his cage, Peppers would make a mad dash for the outside. I finally let him roam one day to see what he was after and he went right for the glass aquarium with all the crickets inside it. He then proceeded to...
You could go with the rock idea, but start with small aquarium rocks and then place bigger rocks on top of them. About a 1/2" layer of aquarium rock should keep any cricket from getting through. Just make sure your cham cant eat any of them... they might look tasty.
So when I got my Senegal, Peppers, he had a small dark spot on the top of his head where it looked like he might have been bit or scratched in the wild.
I have had him for about five months. He has shed two or three times in that period and I have not seen much improvement on this spot. It is...
You should save up a bit of money specifically for vet visits. Its going to happen and to be unprepared, should not be an excuse when it is harped on this forums so much. I don't mean to come across as nasty, but making excuses as to why you cant pay for a vet visit isn't going to help your cham...
Yup, it was a way of preserving foods, like using salt, but less expensive since salt was less of a commodity back then. I could only assume the taste of fermented food stuffs in rancid rice vinegar to be fairly putrid... but we are talking about the people who eat stuff like this all the time...
I actually lined mine with linoleum flooring, sealed it with liquid nail, and are in the process of making a small hole in the corner to allow for drainage. So far this has worked very well.
Today is the last day! Its going for $15 and the bid will end at about 6:00 EST. check it out now before time runs out. (The $15 has been met but no higher yet)
I had this issue with a small lamp I was using. It would buzz relay loud and not light well in the center. It was old so I think it was just not working well, and it was a cheap plastic one that couldn't be fixed easily.
I think what your problem is, as long as your bulb isn't old, is that...
I would say about 50/50
My lights are automated, and I have a space heater that constantly keeps the room at about 83 (it cant keep up with the cool at night and drops to about 74-79). I am working on a humidifier, but I figure I will turn it on and off myself instead of running it all day...
Just tested running it with out the 4' length of pipe. It seems to work or at least has been for an hour or so.
I think I need to construct a hanging bench for above the enclosure, Im running out of space above and I hate just letting stuff sit right on the screening to stretch it out.
I...
Here are some pictures. The rubber hose looks kinked at the bottom, but its just where its going into the humidifier. It has almost a boomerang shaped opening.

So I bought a little ultrasonic air humidifier the other day and made a system to channel the fog produced by it to the top of the cage. It works really nice, for about a minuet. Then I guess it chokes back on itself and fog starts coming out of the base.
Has anyone had this issue and how did...
Hey all. You may be aware of this already, but I was searching for deals through LLL Reptiles and found a $2 off Rep Cal Calcium. It worked for me and I bought The Rep Cal -D3 and Phosphorous.
The code is: rcal
Found it here: Rep Cal Coupon. Its been running for at least a year and I think...
Better watch who you say that to. We West Virginians have about as small of a temper as we do teeth! :p
I live in North Central WV about 40 minuets from Morgantown. I figure I might just get a fecal done for now at Audubon since its like a five minuet drive and look into a check up later once...
Hi everyone. I would like to take my Senegal, Peppers, in to get a check up done. I have looked through the resources here and have been passed off to several different veterinary hospitals around the area. The vets on the resource websites around here have all moved to other areas by the way...

Other than that, I looked at Nutritiondata.com and they seem to be full of vitamins. Here's the link : Parsnips @ Nutritiondata. No carotene so no vit. A though. I would have someone...
