Thanks everyone! How long should i wait to try and take him out of his habitat?

I just went upstairs to measure...i was wrong..woopsie! It is 18x20. I was told it would be ok for the little guy until he is 8 months? Im gathering that this is not true.

I think the cage is like 18x12...something like that...not too big. he is a panther ambilobe. Born in beginning of December

the basking spot...with bulb hanging...was 82-83. the edge on the top of the cage (rim) melted.

Trying to get some pics without stressing him out. Its only his second day in his new surroundings. He is eating and drinking like a champ so im sure his color will get brighter soon.:)

also... Is my baby smart enough to move out of the heat if he get too hot??:confused:

I have a screen cage with a dome hanger above it so my little one doesnt get too hot. Well....just saw that the heat from the bulb (which is a 75W basking bulb) has melted some of my plastic on the cage. Should i just put my dome light on the screen and have a branch 6 " under instead??

Unfortunately they special ordered it for her saying it was the "best" light for a baby chameleon. They wont take it back...already tried.:mad:

OK...good to know. I know there is a chance of my new Chameleon not liking me much...guess i shouldnt get my feelings hurt. :(
