Here is my little Gizmo. He is just getting his stripes. :) The 1st one was taken last week (sorry for the leaf in front of his face) and the second a month or so ago.
Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Veiled Chameleon. nearly 6 months, male and been in my care 2 and a half months (Gizmo).
Handling - Very rarely. I think we have got him out 3 times maximum
Feeding - I am feeding size 3 crickets, Dubai Roaches, hatchling locust, calci worms and silkworms. He...
Is he shedding? It could be a bit of shed in his eye if he is. I am sorry I don't know how you wash out with saline but hopefully someone else can help you with that. In the mean time I would give him an extra mist and see if he can get it out himself. Good luck. I am sure he will be fine.
You are not bothersome with your questions its how you learn. I have a dripper for my little veiled but he doesn't seem to use it much or not that I have seen. We run it if we are going out for the day and if he looks like he could do with a bit more hydration. Well done on getting him eating...
I am not sure if you are misting long enough. It takes my guy 2 minutes before he will even start to drink (my personal experience). I normally mist him for 5 minutes at a time or 10 minutes if he is looking like he needs a bit of extra water.
I use a pressurised garden sprayer (I think it is...
He is a cute little thing. Congratulations on your new arrival. I am sure he will eat in a day or so. It sounds like he is just settling in. Enjoy him. It can be nerve racking for the first few weeks but you will do great.
I am sorry that you are having trouble. I am not an expert but I can offer my experience. I have a veiled chameleon and he doesn't drink while I am watching. I normally mist his cage and then leave him too it and I assume he drinks as his urates are normally white. If I suspect he might be...
I have just looked at your previous post and I think it might be due to lack of calcium. He needs it without D3 every day. It might be worth taking him to a vet that knows chameleons. It could be the start of MBD. I hope your little guy gets the use of his tongue back and is back to good health...
I think that antibiotic is hard on the kidneys (from what I have read) so make sure you keep him hydrated. Also I think it can decrease their appetite to. Please someone say if I am wrong.
My little guy is 5 months old and he has stripes. They came out the 1st shed he had with us when he was 4 months old and they are now slightly darker after he shed last week. I love it when he sheds as I think what will he look like now.
Thank you. He is looking better today as I have been doing longer misting and I have seen him drinking. I will look into those worms though. Thank you again.
Hello is there such a thing as a worm to help hydrate my little male veiled chameleon?
He is 5 months old and he is showing slight signs of dehydration. I mist him 3 times a day so I am making the sessions longer to help but I was wondering if there is anything I can feed him to help that is...
I don't know if a thermostat would help. I am not sure what type you would need. Maybe some one will be able to advise or maybe try using a lower watt bulb.
I am not sure what bulb you are using but i have heard it is better to use a normal coloured bulb and not red or blue. Please correct me someone if I am wrong.
You put a plant in the shower, direct the water at the wall so only the spray hits the plant and put your chameleon on the plant. It is not recommended for small chameleons.
