Okay so ive been thinking, it would be kinda cool to make a huge enclosure that isnt just a large floored free range. I want dirt, trees the whole 9 yards. I figure id make it like 6w x 10h x 3d. I just dont know who i would drain everything and feed everyone...
help me brainstorm these ideas!
I have a few snakes that i need to sell ASAP
1) female burmese python, about a foot maybe 18". Amazing temperment and colors $50
2) male surinam boa, pushing 5' and ready for a female. $50
3) normal female retic pushing 6 1/2 ft. She is my pride and joy and has been handled since day...
its just a spot? not a rasied bump, or depression?
Im throwing this one out there, they are chameleons, and they are colorful... could just be a cool little mark?
babys change their colors so often, and sometime it shows up litterally one dot on a random spot
I know whe we use bulbs like that for tortoises and beardies we use flood lights not spot lights as it doesnt creat a centered point of heat, but rather a large patch of heat :)
i cant answer much more than that, i know that 50W out of a bulb like that is a lot warmer than a standard 50W lol.
everything sounds good. The basking temps might be a little high, but thats where mine are too to or else my little guy wont move and gets real lazy. As long as he is active and drinking/eating/pooping everyday i dont see too much of a problem, if he starts to look unhealthy get him to a vet...
What show are you going to? If it is a large one there will be vendors seling mesh cages for cheap. Im pretty sure its tiki tiki even seels a starter kit where you get a cage and full setup plus cham for a hell of a deal.
Im pretty sure its FLChams, but it might be screamealons that has the...
wow he is a cutie and that is a nice looking setup.
alot can go into why they wont eat. How much is he eating? My baby panther is taking about 8 crickets a day right now, which i think is a little low, but as long as they look healthy and ARE eating and drinking every day you should be okay...
This thread makes me miss the carpet pair i had :(
once any snake is on rats never let it smell/see/think of mice. I had a friend with a 4ft retic not be able to get small rats so he got 4 HUGE HUGE mice to feed and it was game over from then on.
think feeding a 6ft snake mice gets...
i was going to ask the same thing about the light hood lol.
When i had Reptar i had his heat light angled like that. Created a basking spot and kept the hole upper part of the cage a bit warmer as well. Right now im running 2 heat lights on Omerta's cage to do the same thing. a 55W for...
DO IT!!!! Kevin helped me a lot when I first got into chameleons and this is definitely a chameleon oriented thing. Its all top notch stuff and I'm 120% satisfied with it.
It is great for creating mist from above. It would be amazing for a freerange for misting/raining over a main...
I havent had my good camera for tha last week so i havent been able to get good pictures of my little guy. But i finally got the Nikon charged and my zoom lens cleaned being that i had to take these pcitures from across my room cuz my little guy is still kinda scared of me at the front of his...
Okay, so i picked up a mister from Kevin (Summoner12) this last weekend and i finally have everything going and working and mounted and blahblahblah.
I got enough to run 3 cages, even through I currently only have 1, the plan is to expand a bit in the future :D
Anyways, I got a 4 gallon...
unfortunately i do not have that option :/ my mister is an auto unit, and im not home during the day to remove the cup. My guy wont eat infront of me and doesnt exactly run to the cup yet (hes barely 2 months old and still thinks im going to eat him) so i have to leave it in all day un observed...
I see a lot of threads, I CANT FIND MULBERRY TREES AROUND ME! HELP! and figure, if we make a thread listing where the mulberry trees are in your general location, we can start a little mini map for people growing/feeding silkies (like me :) )
Give you region of California (i assume) and an...
Yeah it is for the Omerta. He is currently the only cham i have. I have plans for having 2 more by the end of January, so i thought ahead and got extra nozzles :) I dont like cup feeding adults, but he is so small and already doesnt like to eat much i HAVE to be able to see what hes eating. Imma...
look into a reverse osmosis system, or some sort of walter filtration you can put into a feed line into your water resevoir. I use regular tap water, always have, and have no complaints and havent from them chams. They all love their showers once the get over the mister scaring them lol
..from getting flooded??!
Right now im using a cut down red party cup as a food cup which was fine until i got my auto mister (aquazamp review coming real soon :) )cuz i could cover my cup and keep the water out of it. I came home today to find my baby crickets drowned cuz the cup just relly...
the problem is i need a dual 18" fixture not 48" one. I picked up some 4 t8 balasts, 2 sets of mounting end caps and 2 cermic house fixtures this weekend, im still drawing everyhing out, but im thinking (and though it may be over kill, i think it will be cool) running two 5.0 bulbs, 2 grow...
