My Dripper System & how to

Hoj

Friendly Grasshopper
So here is the little dripper system I made for my little guy, it works well and he seem to enjoy it.

I bought all the pieces for around $45CAN, and all can be purchased at home depot.

I used 5ft 1/4" water tubing ( i got this at my local pet shop as i was able to get a blueish colour that i liked as well as it is more flexable than the clear hardware store type), 1 of 1/4" T style tubing connector, 2 1/4" adjustable dripper heads, 1 1/4" valve, 1 1/2" screw in tap with 1/4" outlet.

I ran the tubing down from a container using the tap, through the valve and then into the back of my enclosoure, then into the T-connector and out with 2 lines. Each line goes to a different spot running through the dripper head and then out with just the hose end to drip as well.

I have a foam wall so i drilled holes through it and was able to run the hose through it to conceal it. I also got a pack of green plastic coated fairly stiff wire and made coils to run my tubing through, be doing this i was able to use the ends of the wire to poke into the foam wall to keep it where i wanted it and make managing the tubing easier. ( wire holds bends )

Here is the container on top with the tap and valve to control flow ( i plan to get a better looking one LoL

I used the wire to scure the tubing and T-connector to the back of the foam wall.

A little plants to hide things, the wire really helps getting things to stay where you want

hope you enjoy thx

I like how you have the heat light angled... but how come the light hood is so high off the cage top? Are you using CFL lamps in the hood? Also curious on how many watts that heat lamp is? Just wondering

i was going to ask the same thing about the light hood lol.

When i had Reptar i had his heat light angled like that. Created a basking spot and kept the hole upper part of the cage a bit warmer as well. Right now im running 2 heat lights on Omerta's cage to do the same thing. a 55W for basking in on spot and a 20w on the other. He likes to run back and forth between the two. His behavior has gotten a lot nicer (regularly eating more, drinking more, not so stressed colors) since i have switched to this setup

i put the hood up higher because there r two 26W CFL bulbs in there and my little guy likse to crawl around upside down on the top of his screen and when he gets really close to the lights he squints his eyes. Also I read somewhere that the lights should be abit away from my cham so they r about 8" from the top. the basking bulb is a 60 w i believe. I have a 18" reptisum linear bulb but have not had a chance to switch them, ( i heard that CFL's are no good)

im really new so any suggestions would be apprechiated
