Aw I didn't realize you already bought your cage. I would've sold you the one I bought from Craig with the vines all included! Lol I hate it. I prefer the cages I built :D
People on here may come off as harsh but they are trying to help and everyone's first concern is the health of the animal. I've been on this forum for less than a year and I've seen a lot of people lose their chameleons because they ignored advice and/or didn't take them to the vet. Please...
Are you dusting with calcium without D3 at every feeding? What about vitamins? How are you gutloading your feeders and how much are you feeding him? What kind of uv bulb are you using? Growing chams especially need proper supplements or they can develop mbd which may explain the casque.
I...
I'll trade you my mean nasty Jasmine for your nice boy! You can't really train them either way. I've had her since she was tiny and she grew up to be really mean and wants to bite off my face. My boys that I raised from youngins are the sweetest things. Kami who was full grown and WC was...
I thought this plant caused skin and eye irritations, which is why people weren't using it? I have another type of philodendron and I don't use it in any cages for that reason.
Wikipedia says: "Cases of mild dermatitis due to contact with the leaves have also been reported, with symptoms...
These are hilarious! Thanks for posting them, they make me smile. :D
Here are a couple of my Kami being silly:
"What? I like to bask like this. Sometimes I need some sun where the sun doesn't shine."
"I'm tanning the back of my other leg now. I don't see what the problem is."
That was from Pat Catan's craft store. It was like $6 for 6 ft of it! Great deal, I put them in all of my cages. I rinsed them with scalding hot water until the water ran clear and then put a coat or 2 of water-based polyurethane to make them more waterproof and easy to clean. Sadly they are...
Thanks for the compliments everyone! :) Drac seems a lot calmer and isn't climbing all over his screen as much since I got him the new plant and vines. He hasn't fallen off the screen at all. I'm working on finishing his big boy cage this weekend and then move him into it this week sometime...
Thanks everyone. I'm relieved that she isn't suffering anymore but very sad. Seeing her go from being sick to getting better to getting sick again was really hard to deal with. I buried her at the edge of the woods with a couple of sticks, vines, flowers, and crickets.
I got a humidifier over the winter for me and my chams and it really helped with the humidity (and my skin :D). I wish I had bought one like years ago, they're great. Buying distilled water is a pain, but I def think it's worth it :)
