Its only been a week, I've had Wiz for two months. I would just give it a bit more time and practice. He is finally not trying to kill me the last week or two.
And I am sure that once she has had a worm, she will come out for it. I would honestly try some wax worms, I know that people dont...
Wiz has the same problem, he was wonderful at the store and the second we put him in his mini condo without any other chams he just got territorial and didnt want us in his cage. I was looking at pics when I first got him and remember I wasnt a fan, he's about 3 times as large now but has gotten...
Wiz was born in September, he was one of the later ones but a few hatched after him. So I would guess the same for yours or maybe even earlier since that batch had a lot of females, that is just a guess but I am quite the regular into the store just to look and buy some fun insects for Wiz. Its...
Its definitely first child, or in this case first cham syndrome. We were all anxious parents with our first chameleons and every little thing they did that seemed out of the ordinary we questioned as something wrong. We have all been there. But like others have said, she gets up at 6, it gets...
That is quite the drive, but they are definitely the only people in town who cater to herp owners. That sucks about the light, Im glad it is resolved now though.
Your lil one might be related to ours, was she in the cage in the middle near the Carpet chameleons?
Mine was born in...
Where did you get her? Me and my gf got ours at Rasumussen in the Northtown Mall in Spokane, just curious since I saw you were from Cheney. I would recommend Rasmussen to anybody, Jodi and Joe are great - 10/10 for sure in my books.
I'd say he is about 3-4 months old. Mine is almost 4 months old in December and looks identical to that one in terms of the colors they are showing and the size of their casque. Thats my best guess, it might be even a lil older since mine is quite the porker.
Best of luck.
The age of your two little ones seems to be around a month or even less. They seem incredibly tiny for veiled chameleons. Especially when I see them compared to the size of your fingers. I saw mine born on 9-6 and a month later he was about the size of your little ones. Thats my best guess on age.
It might be his temperatures and lighting, I would recommend using a 5.0UVB bulb, many on here would recommend ReptiSun as the best brand to purchase and to stay away from any compact bulbs for UVB. Also, 100W seems exceedingly too hot for a baby chameleon. I would say 40W incadescent house bulb...
To answer this question directly again, daylight savings moves time back an hour in the fall. So we all gained an hour of sleep that night, including Wiz. So technically, if he was having problems adjusting - it would be him going to bed earlier. Though it was a good theory (I misunderstood you...
We have daylight savings time in here in Washington but it gets darker here earlier and stays darker later in the morning. So if he was falling asleep early I'd understand. He is just staying up late in his cage being a teenager I suppose.
I am not worried about anything with his health, I...
Hey all,
My chameleon has recently been staying awake past his lights out time. He wakes up and goes to bed at 9:00am/9:00pm. I know that he is healthy, Wiz eats like a horse, drinks and has an attitude of dont you dare come in my cage...and he is 2months old. So ruling out illness, is it...
I believe that Carol is probably closer to 3 months old too. I have a lil guy, though while a porker, is that same size at 2 months. So I would think she is not too much older. But I am definitely no expert! I just feel that most 5 month old Veileds show more adult colors.
Wiz does that too, I dont know why but every time I take him out with the fan on he reaches for it. I know he doesnt like me, but the whirling blades of death above cant be much better.
I would always recommend one of the site sponsors as they wouldnt become sponsors without the recommendation of many of the forum members here.
For veiled chams though I have found nice looking ones at FLCham, Chameleon's Finest, and TikiTiki are the best ones I've seen in terms of quality...
Wow, that cage looks huge! What size is it?
It looks very nice, I am just worried if he is able to find his food. Maybe you are cup feeding, that works well with my lil one.
I dont think the cage is too big for him though (just worried about finding food), a wild Veiled wouldnt be limited...
Sorry for those who thought it was an addiction to reptiles thread going up, but I was just curious how many crickets was too many for a month old Veiled Cham? Right now, Wiz eats about 15-20 small crickets a day (10 in the morning, 10 more in the afternoon). He is rather large for a month old...
I know this is a late response to this topic, but if you can find a pet store or online dealer there are crickets called pinheads. Typically newborn crickets that are extremely tiny but will be large enough to spark interest from your tiny cham. Mine was born on 9-6, but must have been the pig...
I def did that, sorry the pic was taken before I was completely done. It was about 85 and still the same humidity up above and it was actually kinda chilly in my room so that makes me feel better with winter quickly approaching.
Hey all,
So we're back at it again with another Veiled Cham. I am sure many did not remember but our last lil guy passed away from his battle with his RI :(
It was terrible, but we were both set on having a chameleon, and a veiled none the less! Fortunately for us, since it was only 3...
