I wake her up with me in the morning at 6 and she usually goes to sleep between 5 and 8 without me turning her lights off. her cage is by my window so she can see that it gets dark out there, could that be why? When I catch her sleeping early she's usually got her head under a leaf and she stays asleep till the next morning. he has no signs of being sick but I just wanted to see if this was normal.

Here are the pictures of her set up.

It's normal. Mine sometimes goes to sleep before it's dark out or before the lights are out by an hour or two. They also get up before the lights some days. So nothing to really worry about, unless she is sleeping in the afternoon.

One time she fell asleep early and I thought something was wrong so I rustled some leaves, didn't budge. Pet her tail , didn't budge. Poked her side, didn't budge... poked her again and she jumped and fell off of the branch and on to floor of the cage and played dead. I felt so bad I thought I scared her to death. After a little frantic running around she calmed down an went back to sleep. hahah thought I'd share that story.

Its definitely first child, or in this case first cham syndrome. We were all anxious parents with our first chameleons and every little thing they did that seemed out of the ordinary we questioned as something wrong. We have all been there. But like others have said, she gets up at 6, it gets dark at 5/6 so I can see why she falls asleep early. No worries.

yeah, my girl does that some times. her lights are set to go out at 10:30 but every now and then she'll put her head under some leaves and fall asleep at like 8

I'd be more concerned with the light burning her. From the pictures she's right next to the fixture which could easily burn her.

Mine follow what the sun is doing through the window, so I only have a 12 hour schedule during the summer. Now the lights are on at about 7 and off by 5:30, and they're usually in their bed branches by about 5.

When it's one of those awful, dark, stormy days where it's dark by like 3pm, they'll already be settling down for the night! So they do what the sun is doing through the room window, they could care less about the lights.

So it's totally normal for them to follow the sun if they can look out a window.

I would say that's normal.. My lights are set from 7am to 7pm, but at 6pm or sometimes earlier than that my cham settle in his sleeping position.. The shorter days are definitely playing a role. When it starts to get dark outside it's almost bed time for Fender. It doesn't matter if his lights are on or not.:)

Alright cool :) Yeah I thought so about the window. Oh she's so precious I looove her. I looks like shes hunting water drops right now, so silly.

your just being a good owner when you worry about things like this :)
