It sounds like he was just keeping his mouth open because it was too hot in his cage if you've noticed that he does it less now after lowering the temps. How long have you had him? I've had my chameleon for 5 months now and he's always huffed at me from day 1. I too sometimes start thinking that...
I was planning on making a bamboo trellis as part of my chameleon's free range but I can't find waxed lashing cord anywhere...and then your idea of connecting two together...sounds like a chameleons jungle gym paradise! Once I find this lashing cord I'm going to start on it so I'll post some...
So Renly is being a terror today and my girlfriend caught him shooting rocks in the pothos that hangs in his cage. He usually does it to get to the dirt but today he actually brought the rock back to his mouth like it was a cricket or something..
Now.. covering all of the soil for a pothos...
Hey guys, my cham is around 8 months old and has not had a full body shed in at least 6 weeks. He was having eye problems and around 2-3 weeks ago only his left eye shed and nothing else. Ever since he's been looking pretty ghostly but no shed has occurred. He hasn't changed dramatically in size...
One thing I experienced with using a shower curtain is that my enclosure would mold because of the reduced air flow. I only covered two sides of the cage as well but now that I removed the shower curtain there's no mold growing in the cage anymore. But I live in Florida and its very humid here...
My chameleon always tries to eat dirt. I've covered his main plants with rags but he always seems to manage to find dirt in his hanging pothos. It's so hard to completely cover up all of the dirt in a pothos and I always catch my guy looking in it for dirt. Once I started feeding him silkworms...
Hey Kat, I'm not exactly sure I think he was born around January-Feb. His eyes still look a little irritated and wrinkly, he's also dehydrated but it seems like he's starting to come around. Yeah this has not been the best experience, I can't seem to figure out what's bothering his eyes and they...

His urate has been orange like this for the past 2 days, before this it was only pinkish. I didn't know that..that's pretty interesting. I'd need a real syringe.
Thanks for responding Sandra, I plan on using all of your advice. The repashy calcium plus I have is this one:http://www.amazon.com/Repashy-Calcium-Vitamin-Supplement-5-3oz/dp/B005BYH8KA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1375718489&sr=8-1&keywords=repashy+calcium+plus
I'm not sure whether it's the new one...
Well I wanted to try switching the supplements because he's still eating dirt and I want to see if the repashy will cause him to stop. What kind of problems does it cause? And yeah I was not planning on using it every day.
His poop and urate looked the same today and his left eye is very wrinkly
Haha yeah I wanted the best for my boy..This morning I watched Ren checking out his new dripper spot and he drank from it a couple times.. I'm worried though today his left eye looks a little strange. I'm thinking it looks like the start of a tear duct infection.
Okay that makes sense. He poops on the umbrella 90% of the time and I always have to look through all of the rocks that cover the soil to find it and sometimes I don't find the urate. But like I said his urate has gone from pinkish to orange like in the picture so this has been a reoccurring...
Yeah I took those pictures about 5minutes before posting.I agree by the looks of the urate I'd think his eyes would be sunken in much more. He does poop everyday. And after doing some searching I have come across posts about people believing orange urates do not relate to dehydration but it...
There are some pictures in this thread from a couple days ago when he was having eye problems: https://www.chameleonforums.com/eye-lid-folded-back-itself-115037/
His eyes still look a little wrinkly. Here are two photos of him today.
And his poop and urate
I was planning on getting another...
