Hey Jay, Glad I could be an inspiration! I did the same thing, found a guys photos I liked I bought the same camera he had.
If I could make a suggestion to your gear (not sure if the 430 has manual settings) But the 580 is a dream. I love it! It has tons of power and manual control. I often...
Thanks again all!
Publishing a coffee table book would actually be pretty expensive, and when I go through my portfolio I don't have enough great chameleon photos yet. I have a lot, but not enough for a book. And since I've been trying to shoot for the Nactus award this year, and for Reptile...
Thanks for the comments guys! Catherine always gives me an all access to pass to her amazing collection.
(for all the shutter bugs) I'm shooting with a Canon xsi and a 60mm 2.8 macro lens, and a 580ex flash on a hotshoe with an 8" diffuser. Though I'm beginning to think that I need to trade...
I visited Catherine for the first time in many months recently. We had a scheduled photo shoot of the Uthmoelleri pair that she has. But I couldn't resist shooting Dino again, her Laterspinosis.
It's always a ton of fun photographing at Catherine's house! Enjoy the photos...

I called three, (count 'em THREE) entomolgists at three seperate universities in the US. Two of them were in Washington state. All three Entomologists said...
I will post a few pics tonight. They require a bit of heat, I have alamp on my terrerium. They do best with some airflow so the air isn't stagnant. And then a spray of water every couple days and a handful of crickets now and then. It'll actually only eat a cricket or two every now and then...

Email me if you'd interested and would like to see photos. I...
I had the pleasure of photographing the extremely rare australian frilled. Very fun photo shoot. Thanks to Taylor for bringing me his amazing animal, and working so hard to piss him off :) He was really rather friendly.
Enjoy!

Jannb's photo of Luie is one of the best veiled photos I've seen on this forum. Such a stunning specimen, perfect pose, and perfect background. Nice job Jann! You should submit it to the nactus award for 2009, it's a perfect submission for the 'scientific record' category.

Get a bucket of dirt in her cage asap just incase she's gravid.

I've heard the habba mist is incredibly noisy, terrible mist quality (more like spitting) and it overheats when it runs out of water. Not sure about exo-terra's fogger, but increasing humidity and creating water droplets to fall inside the cage are two different things. Chams need dripping water...
