Do not buy them. This supply and demand (even though meant to save and help them) is what keeps the stores bringing in these poor dears (it is kinda like buying the puppy mill puppy from the pet stores because we feel sorry for them). Do not buy but DO CALL;) .
I have done this twice at our...
truely works of art. your pictures are inspiring...i still remember in 4th grade when the art teacher made me re-do my picture because frogs and lizards "are not red or blue dear". Oh how far we have come!
I like you taste in names. Our 10 year old named his glass fish "Decomposed" because you can see her skeleton and everything. He also has a knife fish named "Machety" (sp?) and another fish named Metalhead.:)
I was thinking of this same idea yesterday.:D
I was contemplating using either sheets of acrylic adhered to the walls etc, or picking up some cool vinyl flooring (like we have in our bathroom) and doing wall to wall and on the wall flooring. The stuff we have looks and kind of feels like...
Is a heat gradient a problem for Chams at night?
I would think they would pick where they were most cozy and snooze there.
Does anyone drape a blanketover half of their enclosure to retain warmth and help them feel more secure as they sleep?
I am in MN so we have all kinds of heat...
I am assuming you mean 20 degrees celcius?? you can use a red heat light to maintain the ambient air temps or i suppose a ceramic heat emitter would work great but I personally have no experience with them.
Great question! I found a few threads that said the Panther (besides the price) are the best "beginners", as far as Chams go anyway. Then the Veileds seem to be second. But when I was in the local PetSmart yesterday starting to pick up a few items for the Panther I plan to bring home (in about a...
Which type of nozzle do you suggest for an Ankaramy or a NoseyBe CHameleon? They have the Ultra Fine floats in air mister nozzle and the coarser Droplet producing nozzle? Thank you again.
WOW! thank you everyone. I will Google Promist. I really appreciate not only the referrals but all of the "inventive tricks" you all have passed along.
Happy herping:)
What do you suggest for a misting system?
We currently have 2 crested geckos and we are planning on adding a Panther Chameleon in a few months.
We are concerend with noise, how often the unit needs to be filled, and the ability to program the unit.
It would be ideal if both the Cresteds and...
Thank you.
Kinyonga, again thank you...chameleons sound a lot like people, sometimes as they mature they find out how to express themselves differently:) Take care and thank you again.
Thank you Kinyonga and TreelionsUK! I guess I have already figured out that I need to do more research since I should have said morphs or locale instead of species...sorry. Thank you for you replies and the links to more information, I really appreciate it all!
Does anyone have a specific book, website etc. that they feel has accurate comparisons of the many panther species? I am trying to determine what the overall most hardy, smallest and least aggressive toward keeper panther is? Thank you...
We have been thoroughly enjoying all the helpful...
Is the chameleons overall temperament as a baby/juvenille going to be a good indicator of their adult temperament? For example, if the baby seemes fairly comfortable with handling for cage cleanings etc. will this change as they mature and develop?
Brad, Thank you so much! I am sure you know the pet stores, even our two local reptile specialty stores, are a poor place for accurate information. And from the books I have been reading it completely depends on if the author is a breeder of a specific species (read here: biased toward thier...
