hmm, what do u mean backwards? upside down ?? i'm guessing yes since it was the top of the enclosure. well i hope this wasn't during the day, cuz it's possible he's just sick and had his eyes closed, which would not be good one bit. i have 3 Jacksons, and I check on them 3x/day (morning...
k first off, gotta do somethin' about that punctuation. second of all, ur cham's prob just bored of crix. he's 3 months, have u ever tried feeding him anything else? u gotta mix it up, chams (esp xanth's) can be quite the picky eaters, and who can blame them?? so many insects out there yet...
You do realize you have a veiled, right?? Those dudes eat anything smaller than them that moves! They're probably the most ferocious of all chams...they will hiss and bite even if you spoil them rotten. If you wanted a more social cham, you might have tried a panther or a jackson...sorry! :(
I would say 2 weeks or more, depending on how old your cham is, how well it ate previously, and whether or not it's staying hydrated. I'm having some intermittent issues w/my picky chams! They're getting tired of the cricket/mealworm routine...had to order silkworms to get one of 'em back to...
Didn't read every single post, but just wanted to throw in my 2 cents on Jacksons. A male would definitely work better than a female, I have 2 and they both don't mind interaction, even w/my 5yo :) They're pretty chill, as they won't hiss or bite. They can live up to 8-10 yrs, depending on...
Yup, my xanth's love 'em! My wife wasn't too thrilled about the crunching noise they make when eating them though, lol. And yeah, it's only when we go out and collect, which always has its fair share of risks.
How do u guys have a free range? I mean doesn't your cham just disappear?? I'd be so worried, I almost lost Tiger one time and was totally freaking out. They're not full grown so they're not the easiest to track down, especially in a messy house (my wife doesn't enjoy house cleaning very much).
Either the guy got scared off or he's done pet sitting or worse case scenario, the cham has passed on. I hope he isn't just scared off, he could really use the help. That cham's husbandry is seriously pathetic, I feel horrible for it and wish there was something I could do.
I refill my drippers twice a day...they actually are constantly dripping, just that it's a very tiny stream. But I like that better since it keeps the plant soil moist and the humidity up, and they still last a good 4-6 hours. That way my chams can drink any time they want :-)
I'm considering ordering a batch of silkworm eggs from Mulberry farms...I really wanna breed them! I have 3 jacksons and they all love them...just that it's a lot more expensive than the usual crix/mealworm feeders. Definitely worth it, but let me know if you do decide on it so you can teach me :)
