Question.

Ive heard over a week. In my experience, my female xanth has gone 5 days without food. She was just not hungry, and it had no ill effect on her.

When I had my first female Veiled, she didn't eat for 10 days before laying her first clutch of infertiles, yet she still had the energy to dig the hole, lay over 100 eggs and fill it back in again! They are quite remarkable!

My naughty male veiled was only 10 months or so and he refused crickets for more than 2 weeks! He would have eaten locusts or mealworms I think, but I wanted to keep him in line :) He's being good now and eating his crickets before he gets other things so he knows the score.......

I would say 2 weeks or more, depending on how old your cham is, how well it ate previously, and whether or not it's staying hydrated. I'm having some intermittent issues w/my picky chams! They're getting tired of the cricket/mealworm routine...had to order silkworms to get one of 'em back to eating. Your best bet is to make sure your cham is 'healthy', i.e. moving around, doesn't sleep during the day, etc., IMO that's when you should be getting worried.

I think that's the one challenge with chams, they can be so damn stubborn!! Yet that only makes me love 'em more :)
