sick jackson?

My 3month old Jackson is being very temperamental usually hand feed him small gutloaded crickets he refuses to eat out of mmy hand now he is still eating but more less wants to hunt is this normal!? Also he had some excrement dried on his pooping region I cleaned off with damp tp but its been since tthen he wont eat from hand I also added live pothos around the same time ideas?

I don't see anything wrong with wanting to hunt personally. I think it is better for them to get the excercise. Now I cannot give you a clue as to why he does not want hand feed! Sorry! I do not see a problem, maybe just a little disappointing for you that he does not like you anymore! just kidding!!!

I have a 4 month old baby Jackson and he will hand feed most days when I offer him a silkworm or mealworm, but he gets most of his food from the feeding cup that I put crickets in every morning. It is better not to rely on hand feeding as it can become time consuming and if you need to get a cham sitter in they may not be happy to hand feed the bugs to him! Do you also feed him fruit flies? Mine has only just started eating enough 'proper' food that I don't need to offer flies any more as he is eating plenty of everything else I offer him. He may want to hunt a bit more for himself - he is now approaching the age that Monty was when his appetite really picked up, so he may just feel happier to eat what he wants when he wants to.

Hi, like Carol I don't see anything wrong with your chameleon. If he keeps eating, the fact that he does not want to be hand fed is not a problem. Mine will accept food from me every so often, but some times they simply will not eat until I let the prey loose in the cage.

I think the excrement around his cloaca is not a problem per se, unless you observed a weird color/consistency.

Yes. Beetles and fruit flies! I just fling them in his pothos plant planter and they craw up the leaves and vines cause they climb right out of a cup I tried cup feeding but he wont eat out of one I'm gonna try at an oldrr age for him and my ambanja e

k first off, gotta do somethin' about that punctuation. second of all, ur cham's prob just bored of crix. he's 3 months, have u ever tried feeding him anything else? u gotta mix it up, chams (esp xanth's) can be quite the picky eaters, and who can blame them?? so many insects out there yet they're stuck with the same old type every day. i'd recommend silkworms, dubia's, or mealworms. if ur cool w/collecting insects, they'll prob eat anything you catch as long as it's the right size.

Sorry my grammar isn't up to your par. But in my line of work its not required for me do be a grammer wizard!I get on here for help not to be humiliated thanks!

lol hey no worries, not judging or anything. just a little tricky to understand everything that's going on w/ur cham. i apologize for any potential humiliation i may have caused. just trying to help! i love jacksons, and i wish the best for yours. you've come to the right place, so let's get ur kiddo back to full health, eh?

from what i can tell, there's nothing unusual about your jackson's behavior. if u have any more details tho, do tell.
