I would actually want to learn to make a link like that if u care to share? ok so on how to breed meal worms.. you first get the actual meal worms.. put them in bran or oatmeal or a mix do not refrigerate. Leave them at room temperature. They will form pupae.. then the pupae will form...
am so glad I found this thread, I have offered meal worms before but was always so nervous to do that coz of everything I read about chitin but sometimes I cant get to the store b4 they close to get crickets and sometimes they will not eat the roaches and well.. I have to offer something! Not...
Welcome to the love of reptiles it is quite rewarding the work will seem time consuming till u get into a routine. If you haven't had a chameleon before and there is a wait period u can take the time to learn more about chameleons and look up some info on the forum here as well.. I would read on...
I love how much light comes in through the window. That's a really good spot for them they are so beautiful thanks for sharing. Have you had the plants for long is why they have grown in so beautifully?
I think it is or is it inches the cage was actually set up for me and we used a book to do it. I will check the humidity and temperature and fill out the form. Yes his urates have always been white he is pretty regular and active when he chooses to be most times he likes to bask on that 6foot or...
How do I look up previous posts on chameleon and their drinking habits? It seems lately my chameleon is very thirsty. Am I dusting the crickets too much or is it just too warm? They normally get sprayed several times in a day when someone is home or before we leave and when we get back. For the...
Thank you for the great tips am starting early today using containers, and will try to remove any strays or feed (the bugs) in there in case am unsuccessful in getting all out. I think I will use that regimen through the warm months when they can go back out. I am glad I asked.
They r doing great thanks for the response. May take and post some sometime.. they r much bigger now though. Maybe I will post their baby pics too not sure when.
I wondered if it would be ok to feed the chameleons at night? The chameleons were outside when the weather permitted. Now inside we use uvb and ceramic heat emitters. When I get back they have put on their night colors, the uvbs are off and they are asleep even though its only 6 pm I know bugs...
If your chameleon is an adult male and you have access to a female it may help lure him... in addition to the other suggestions, putting some of his favorite food in the enclosure may encourage him to come eat when he gets hungry.
Some of those butterworms can get large. Not sure how big/small a 3/4 month year old veiled is just know they grow faster than panthers. I have kept then in the fridge (worms) and find blackened ones in the bottom sometimes.. I do keep them out mostly. I should learn to gut load I only get few...
You dumped your crickets? Those guys r invasive and can live in walls.. hopefully it was far away from your place. I have several roach species and dont use substrate for ease of cleaning. I only keep small colonies. They do well, I just find they breed slower than other species.. live longer...
2007 and still on the shelves? wow that's a bit much! Captive animals require specific care as they do not have all the options their wild counter parts have so to keep them, one has to be sensitive to their needs and willing to provide them with quality life in captivity so they are not...
The named worms are an option but if u have instances where the feeders are unavailable you could consider breeding some of your own so you dont have to worry about not having food to offer. One year we had a cold snap on a rather mild winter and the cricket were arriving to the stores either...
My chameleon will do that too I just mist him more than usual to help the shed come off; no need to change anything else as far as light or heat. He will actually still eat too and if not thats ok the shed comes off within a day or so and depending on his age/how big he is, he shouldnt have...
