Butterworm care?

I was recently trying to purchase some silkworms but my pet stores supplier is currently out of silks. I have ordered 250 butterworms for now. Question is, what all do I need to know about storing/caring for the butterworms long enough to last? Also, how should I go about adding them to a 3/4 month old veiled chameleons diet?

Just stick them in the fridge! They go into a sort of hibernation and will last for a few months. Just give sparingly as a treat, they also kind of smell like fruit lol! Your veiled will love them for sure, it won't be your last order I bet:). Did you get them from elliotsbutterworms.com? He's known as Gesang on here, he has the best prices ever!

My local pet shop is ordering for $14 per 250 count. Fortunately I won't have to pay shipping. I am glad I can just stick them in the refrigerator! Thank you for the advise, looking forward to getting them. He loves variety

Dont let them get TOO cold. I just keep mine cool, in my basement, rather than in the fridge. I find the fridge can kill a few off.
You can gutload them a little if you let them be warm for a day or two before feeding off.

Thank you for answering the gut load question before I even had to ask! It's very hot here so I may have to do fridge until winter then it gets pretty cold. Off topic, but what's best way to keep chameleons enclosure warm at night in 40 degree weather?

Some of those butterworms can get large. Not sure how big/small a 3/4 month year old veiled is just know they grow faster than panthers. I have kept then in the fridge (worms) and find blackened ones in the bottom sometimes.. I do keep them out mostly. I should learn to gut load I only get few every so often. Depending on the size of the cage, you can use a heat source w more watts just make sure it meets the distance requirements so it doesn't cause burns to the chameleon or damage the habitat. The added heat may dry him/her out a lot more so more misting/humidity/drinking water may be in order.

I was pretty sure you can use Butter-worms often...I am pretty sure it is wax worms that should not be fed often. Am I mistaking something lol

keep the room temp up (space heater?)
another option would be a ceramic heat bulb
