Take a trip to home depot/ any hardware store that is local to you and buy a few feet of mesh and some zip ties and cover the cage. rodents can get through surprisingly small gaps. And possibly even pick up some rodent poison and place it around the yard ?
I’m probably gonna get some type of bright LED lamp and have it propped up above the cages on my timer set up. But i’m still looking for other suggestions. my room has good natural light but i want it to be brighter then it already is.
I feed her 10 crickets every other day and an occasional super worm or two so i’m not over feeding her she’s just being picky i think. But i do need a healthy way to slim her down
So i’ve fed my adult female veiled all sizes of horn worms, mealworms, wax worms, super worms, wax worworms, locusts, bsfl, silk worms and even collard greens . ( Crickets obviously being the staple in her diet ) Yet she absolutely refuses the dubias I have. Are they too small perhaps? ( i have...
maybe a biodegradable potting bag? I use one for my set up. they soak up a good amount of water and you don’t have to worry about flooding because the bag can soak it up
you could always go with blizzard leopard geckos. i’d recommend checking different breeders prices to make sure you don’t get overcharged. i had a friend over pay 500 for a black night morph because he got it on craigslist and not a breeder
I would do weeks even months of more research before buying your next chameleon. If you want a easy reptile to care for get a pac man frog or a leopard gecko. extremely easy to care for, decently cheap to set up, and they don’t require too much attention.
Cut up a trash bag and tape the sides that are facing a wall. the water will hit the bag on the outside and drip down. get a live plant or two and a few more fake plants. ( the silk ones let water drip off easily. you could get some jungle moss vines to add more stuff to climb on aswell )
Most common pet stores have t5 5.0 UVB hoods and bulbs along with zoo meds daylight blue light. depending on the foliage you have should depend on the uvb bulb you get.
Females don’t have too much color by about 8-11 months is when she’ll have her adult colors. My female has a lot of yellow lime green dark green nice blues and some other darker colors when she’s pissy
I would be EXTREMELY cautious about purchasing any reptile from reptile expos. I bought my girlfriend a 150$ crestie that died 5 days later due to parasites ( according to my girlfriends reptile vet )
Some breeders/businesses sell wild caught reptiles and don’t tell the customer. Nor would i...
Recently just set up my baby pac man frogs enclosure. 10gal tank, cork wood for a hide with frog moss, small water bowl, fake plant, under heat mat set up to a thermostat at 86 for the warm side.
I want to pop in one of my baby pothos plants in there but i don’t wanna have to add any extra...
In my opinion maple or oak would be your best bet. If possible find some that are weather treated or some with no chemicals such as paint. All you’d really need is a fair amount of wood, a saw of any sort, a staple gun, a few feet of mesh, some hinges, 2 dead bolts, a drill, wood screws, a plan...
I’m thinking maybe aim for 10+ crickets a day, a few super worms a week maybe even a few wax worms, and maybe a CHUNKY horn worm once or twice a week to add some meat on his bones
