I was looking for one too. Went to Home Depot, found the Plastikolite 18x24 inch corrugated plastic sheet. 4mm thick I wanted it in brown but the home depot next to my place only carried it in white.
Incase if it helps ya. I found it in the section in which they had porch doors and Garage...
Yeah, the thought did cross my mind, but just haven't been a big fan of cutting the screen, you know.
Another idea i am playing with is to maybe mark out the area right under the PVC pipe, and using a Phillips screwdriver, punch in a few larger holes. Maybe that might help with less build up...
I use an ultrasonic cool mist humidifier to increase humidity in my screen cage. I use PVC piping from the humidifier to get the mist to the cage. I have shower liner on 3 sides to keep humidity up. (see pictures)
The setup works pretty well. However the issue i am facing is the build up of...
So I bought a cup of "small" Silkworms online. It got delivered fine, all the worms were alive. 0.5 inches small. I tried to move the silkworms from the cup into another container (see image below). I managed to move almost 70% (approx) of them into without any issues but almost 30% of the worms...
Go for it! Pvc stand helps so much by taking the weight off the screen cage. I used the precut 1 and 1/2 inch thick 24 inch long pvc pipes from home depot in the plumbing section. Also pick up a pvc pipe cutter. That way you have the option to cut pipes ti exact size you want.
Does your cham eat out of a feeder box or do feeders roam freely? It might just be a mix of factors like - nervousness because of new enclosure, or the enclosure might just be too big for it to find the crickets.
My Jackson's doesn't like to eat in front of me. I usually have to put feeders...
Just an update - I did try puting a few roaches on there backs so there legs are moving trying to get up. It does seem to work, on occasion. But my Jackson's is timid, by the time he knows i am not there to hurt him and comes over to the feeder cup, most of the dubs have flipped themselves straight.
You guys are asking about the basking spot temp right? I did 2 things, first, I made sure the lamp only covers the back corner of my cage. So the heat seems to be concentrated in just that corner
And second, i use a clamp lamp with a dimmer that helps me manage how hot that spot gets...
Never had a Veiled but learning a lot with my Jackson's
- much smaller in adult size than Veiled and Panthers
- higher humidity, folks say 70 to 90% is ideal. I manage to get it to mid 70's with a lot of misting
- they needcooler temps then Veiled. In winter it'd be easy but in summers, the AC...
