Difference in care

Hello ive recently acquired a little baby jackson's chameleon. I also have a veiled chameleon (a little over a year old) who is very healthy and doing fine, so I pretty much know all the basics to chameleon care.

What I want to know from all you Jackson experts is any tips, no matter how big or small, on how his care may differ from my veileds.
I just want him to thrive and live a good long life with me :)

Thanks in advance.

Never had a Veiled but learning a lot with my Jackson's

- much smaller in adult size than Veiled and Panthers
- higher humidity, folks say 70 to 90% is ideal. I manage to get it to mid 70's with a lot of misting
- they needcooler temps then Veiled. In winter it'd be easy but in summers, the AC will be your best friend
- Jacksons seem to get stressed easily. A Veiled might huff and puff up if you approach, but a Jacksons has a flight response. I have still not been able to get my Jacksons climb up my hand. It'd be cool but not that important
- Their supplimentation schedule is a lot more relaxed (ie they need less) then Veiled

These are the major differences that come to mind. I feel i learn new things about Jacksons Chameleons with every passing day

I completely agree with the difference in temperaments, my veiled even as a baby would hiss and gape (now he full on lunges at me, he's the devil) but my jacks will run at the sight of me. I'm chalking that up to hopefully being in a new surrounding and all. Although i have managed to get him to climb on my hand a few times, I hope he will be more chilled in general. Even though I still love my devil veiled :p

Give him lots of places to hide. I recommend good dense live plants. His dream world is you staring intensely into his cage completely baffled by his whereabouts.

So funny you say that, I bought him a huge gordenia(sp), that takes up 3/4 of the cage. And within 5 minutes he was lost forever. I miss playing the "wheres my chameleon game " :p
