    Breeding werners

One of my adult males sleeps on the lowest branch in the cage which is only about an inch from the bottom. He's been doing this for about 6 month's now. During the day he acts normal. Carl

    Plant questions

If you are using them with your werneri I wouldn't worry. They are not known to eat vegetation. Carl

    Breeding werners

Some photos would be great! They are a great species! A real shame they aren't more popular with the general chameleon community. Carl

    Breeding werners

You won't over breed them. They only drop a single clutch each year. I've only kept them separate. My males are relentless with trying to breed. The only way I knew my females were receptive was they became very active climbing the cage walls. Try showing the male to the female. You will...

    Breeding werners

As Trace stated seasonal replication is a must for certain species and werneri is one of those species. Seasonal variation involves temperature and rainfall. It should also be noted that this variation is needed for the longterm health of the animals. Both of my werneri pairs bred in March...

    which Trioceros is best??

My preference is werneri. As adults they are easy going and don't show any sign of getting aggressive. Care for captive born babies is easy as long as you mist a few times a day. They like it humid but not wet. Lows into middle 60's and highs to around 80 and they are happy. Carl

chemeleo werneri tongue problem please help

It sounds to me like she has burned her tongue. Its pretty common for crickets to gather under basking lights. If the basking light is directly on the screen and she shot at a cricket its possible she burned the tip. Carl

    jacksons female ready to mate??

I think I remember from a previous thread you have the male and female housed together correct? If so you are seeing the marbled color because she is stressed. The nicer green colors you see at night you should also be seeing during the day. She could already be gravid. Carl

Crickets More Docile with Lower Temp?

Scott I have always tried to keep crickets as warm as possible. My thinking is that if they are not warm they are not processing the food they are eating. Yes the crickets might have a gut loaded with food but if the food is not being broken down and processed what's the point. Carl

Crickets More Docile with Lower Temp?

Less active means less eating. Less eating means less good stuff in the crickets to provide nutrition for your chameleon. Carl

The Concerns About the Recent Cameroon Imports

Any time the word farmed is used I always think something is wrong. I know of 3 true chameleon farms in the whole of Africa . None of them are in West Africa. Jurgen I am sure you know the ones I am talking about. I know you deal with two of them. The person who is responsible on the African...

The Concerns About the Recent Cameroon Imports

Has anyone given any thought to these animals not even being exported from Cameroon? Sure some were probably collected in Cameroon but was the shipment actually exported from there? West African, Cameroon, exports have been known to be shipped from neighboring countries. Carl
