Little Bit of Blood in Poop??

Hi, I have concluded this from my studies based on things like a cricket's back legs can cause damage to chameleon's mouth which is really just the other end of an anus. Here is the citing: http://mountainviewvet.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/CARING-FOR-YOUR-CHAMELEON ps. I don't think pin...

    Jackson not shedding!!

Hi, my Jackson just went through a shed. The same thing was happening. I helped him out by letting him swim in an inch of warm water with a rock in it for him to go to. I used a Q tip to get gunk off his horns and chin and the most of the shedding came off with the water. His colors were...

Little Bit of Blood in Poop??

Cricket's two big back legs may cause this problem because of the barbs and it may lead to a prolapse of the anus. I stopped feeding crickets.

    The rarest chameleon on earth

Yeah, you are right. The pic is way off. Have they ever even seen a reptile? I think the post is a commentary about the misinformation and misconceptions that are everywhere.

    30 Deads Crickets this morning!

I heard the air goes bad with urine and death and it kills them. Try more vent holes and tubes that allow the cricket to go higher near the vents where the air is better.

CLIMATE OF THE NATURAL HABITAT OF THE MIGHTY YEMEN CHAMELEON

I think there is more to it than this. In a glass terrarium with a Jackson 100% humidity every night without dry out afternoons will cause problems with bacteria and mold. Discretion is needed here.

The only complete articulated early Miocene chameleon skull (Rusinga Island, Kenya) suggests an African origin for Madagascar’s endemic chameleons...

It doubles chameleon's origins to 145 million years. Amazing! Imagine if they found a Mammoth Chameleon. I know it's impossible, but I can't help to wonder.

    Jackson Cham licking?

Hi, I wonder why I never see my Jackson Chameleon licking branches like other chameleons and lizards. Isn't this how lizards pick up on smells? It seems somewhat unique to the species. I know my Jackson can smell well by observing behavior when fresh air is suddenly near. Can anyone spread...

Jackson's Kidney, Horn Health and Husbandry Issues?

Hi, sorry to hear about the suffering. Jacksons chameleons need a RH of 30 to 50 in the day. That is not high. RH at night can be 75 to 100 which is easy to hit because as the temperature goes down the humidity goes up. I have a Jacksons chameleon and I would not let his humidity ever hit...

    Silk Moth Hatchig and Mating

Interesting thread. My original silkworms have turned into moths and are mating and laying eggs. I have 5 moths and about 6 cocoons left. I just put the cocoons in a box and let the moths do their thing. I see eggs in the corner that are white. It is pretty amazing. Good luck with yours.
