That's so funny. You know, I've never tried my actual camera though. I've always used my phone, and out of anything, my phone is the scariest thing to him (besides my mom trying to get him onto a stick to move him to his new cage). Maybe he'll be more chill with the camera...
Basil has learned the best way to hide from the camera. He gets onto a vine and flattens himself behind it, and if I move up to take one from above, he rotates down still behind the vine, and vice versa. Brat! :p
If you look up sandrachameleon and read her blogs, she has good stuff on dry gutload, and basically for wet gutload, greens like kale, collards, turnip and mustard greens, and veggies like carrots, butternut squash, yam, sweet potato, apple, orange, etc. are good to use. Do a search, you'll find...
Ok. Yeah he gets it pretty fast, but the next day he'll try to shoot the side again. I just didnt want him to hurt himself or have his tongue stick too long and accidentally bite it off. Last time he shot at it his tongue stuck for almost a full second. His "bowl" is also under his basking spot...
You should trust the site sponsors... the moderators wouldn't have them as sponsors if they weren't quality. But if it makes you feel better, search the sponsor names in the forums and you might be able to find reviews.
So I have a clear tupperware for a feeding cup which I thought would be ok because the bottom half is different texture and not so clear. Today and yesterday I noticed Basil is still trying to shoot once or twice at the outside of the cup, but quickly realizes he needs to go at it from above...
Here is a thread of directions for the rain system you are thinking of. I did the same thing, works well if you do it right.

If you could find a way to block off the bottom half until he/she is big enough, it would make it easier for you so you don't have to buy an extra cage. Male or female? If it's female, that size is good for adult. A male I'd suggest minimum 24x24x48 for an adult. I have my male veiled in a home...
The way it was worded, "getting one to keep for my nephew" sounds like he is getting one to take care of himself, and that his 3 yr old nephew will just have the enjoyment of seeing and being around the chameleon. I don't think anyone would trust any animal to a 3 yr old. The same way you might...
Panthers and Veileds are kind of close in care. I wouldn't have my Veiled's basking any above 84ish right now at 6 1/2 months.
Actually I just checked and it's 85.something, time to bring my cooling fan back into my room now that temps are going up (I have no AC in my room :o it's an old house).
I have read that you can just put a stick in a shoebox and put him in there. The darkness could help.
Also, you should fill this out since you're new. Welcome, by the way :)

When I ordered silks and butters, Basil would go for the butters and not think twice about the silks. Then I put a few silks on branches instead of in the cup, walked away, a few min later he got all but one. Now he won't eat butters and the silks are all gone
