New Melleri and Enclosure

So Monday last week I found a melleri on Craigslist about 186 miles south of me. The deal was made and I needed a home for this new melleri . Got busy and built this 6'x5'x3' enclosure. The back 2x4s (7'ft) will be the top of the slanted roof which will be bamboo like the back wall of the enclosure.

:D Enough of all that, check this melleri out! That melleri got under the running water on the drip and drank for 30 mins. At one point he literally stuck his head under the running water and was just soaking himself and drinking. He doesn't appear to have any skin issues, lobes look great, toenails intac. :)

I am fortunate to have found him/her. The girl bought him at a reptile show about a month ago and decided she didn't want it. ;)

A new Melleri? And why didn't I know about this???

Seriously though, congrats on the new addition and everything looks great! Glad he's got a great home!

I am so happy for you! I can't wait to get another one, it still makes me sad when I look at pictures :( I'm happy this one found you.
That is quite the cage, how long did it take you to build it? I love it, I can't really tell, is that bamboo in the front and back?
Congrats Donna ;)

Thanks ya'll! It is bamboo blinds on the back and front. The front was just thrown together at the last minute. I literally finished the cage right before I took off for a 5 hr round trip to get the melleri. I started it Monday evening and worked like hell to get it to the point where it will do. I'll keep working and tweaking it till it's just right.

He is every bit as nice as you told me he is. Wow can you imagine if you luck out and get a pair with only 2 meller's? Sweet! I know this is what you wanted Donna so congratulations & enjoy.:D

Thanks for the kudos on the cage. It started as a vision and just came together. I'm not happy with the front and thinking of just leaving it open with no screen or anything. I figure he'll stay or let me know if something's not right.

I'm not sure about his size or weight but you can bet I'll know after he settles in.

Got a problem and need suggestions. The big branch that is across the enclosure is from a Momosa Tree and the branch is smooth. My daughter called and said the big melleri fell off it. I don't really want to take it out since it is attached with screws. What can I do to rough up the bark?

what if you wrap some biovine or grape vine around it? that would giive him more to hang on to.... that or place another branch parallel up close to it to widen it out some... lisa

Congrats Donna on the Mellers. I know you love them and I am glad he found you! I would wrap some biovine around it as suggested earlier. Nice cage by the way!
