Thanks for the quick and reassuring replies! I unfortunately can't really take a better picture of it as it's dried up completely since this morning. I've never seen him making an, *ahem*, urate, so I wasn't sure if this jelly-like texture around it was normal or not.

They don't generally price match animals. Supplies, yes, but not animals. As others have mentioned it might be worth asking, however.

I have that same zilla mini dome and just as snake said, it does heat a much smaller area than a typical incandescent bulb. The light output seems very similar, but again, more concentrated as well.

Meal worms aren't a preferred feeder anyway, so I wouldn't worry about it. Properly gutloaded crickets can be a major part of their diet but I'd suggest ordering some more feeder variety such as silkworms, dubia roaches, blue bottle flies, hornworms...the list goes on! More variety not only...
