Thanks for the feedback. I Gut load the locusts with various veg and fruit but I mostly use spinach as they seem to make short work of it, I'll keep them off spinach from now on. My chameleon was a good eater. Eating about 8-9 every other day like normal and over time he'll started only eat 2...
It was black crickets I have been trying to give him so that might be why, I vary what I give the locusts and crickets, black berrys, cucumber, apple, carrot. There has been times the cricket has been crawling up a branch and my chameleon has moved to get away from it looking quite scared.
I always see on this from more experienced owners that crickets are much better food for chameleons but I can't get mines to eat crickets, he actually looks scared of them, but he will snap up locusts no bother. Is this a problem?
Okay, thanks for your help. I've asked for advice on the not eating thing on another thread and filled the questions out. He stopped eating for 2 days then he shed and 3 days since he shed he still won't eat. Lot of people saying its normal when shedding but I'm not convinced.
My 3 month old male chameleon hasn't eaten in a week and in top of that worry I'm worried about him not getting his calcium, just wondered if I mixed it with water would it be okay to consume it by drinking it?
Also got some mesh to put instead of the wooden roof, and I have a stand light that I'll put his basking lamp on. I have 160w bulb that emits uv light Aswell, I bought it before but it was too powerful to put inside the viv. Got some good ideas from your pictures n got some bamboo canes.
I misted the viv this morning at 9 it reached 80% then at about half 3 it was at 45%. I bought him small crickets and he won't take them, starting to get a little worried.
Also ment to say, I've been thinking about taking the wooden roof off, but I'm not worried at the moment because there's no way he could come into direct contact with the bulb. I put up that background thinking it would make him feel more comfortable but I think it's confusing him because he...
I bought a weeping fig plant yesterday and put it in, it took me about 3 1/2 minutes to reach 80% When misting. And I've been monitoring it. He wouldn't take any locusts today but he took 3 meal worms, I know there not exactly good for him so I'm going to get him crickets. I also put melon...
Meet rango. I hope no one thinks I neglect him or anything, I give him most of my attention, especially the last 3 days. There's just a lot I need to find out for him. I have 2 digital hygrometers and an Eco terra dial one. I sprayed his viv there with warm water and got it to 51%
I really appreciate all your advice, I did do a bit of research but there seems to be tons of info on this I never knew and I feel the reptile shop that gave me him told me nothing. I haven't tried him on crickets. I will upload a picture once I'm home and sort out his humidity straight away...
